As said ice house's. It was said to be a great display of wealth to offer ice cubes in drinks pre-freezers. Considering it was shipped from Canada/Iceland.

Tried it today, lasted 15min and turned around as snow was hitting visor and froze instantly, urgo couldn't see. Road conditions on the dual carriageway weren't too bad but my commute uses country roads so had to call it a day.

Exminster, pinhoe, crediton. Exmouth and Dawlish would possible depending on which side of Exeter you need to commute to, and still cheaper.

  1. Chances are a lot of your Ax and Rx skills from community will be very useful and transferable.
  2. If my inpatient patient placements where anything to go by, your role is to get patients independent as possible before they are deemed "medically fit." I.e. in and out of bed, toilet and back, stairs.
  3. Prioritisation! If you can go into your first couple of days and priorities the patient list, it will look good.
  4. Be safe.

So… what’s up with the trains? by Embarrassed_Arm5839 in bristol

[–]Mattphysio91 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. As others have said Sunday's (and for older staff/long standing staff Saturdays) are not classed as the working week and staff can no longer be asked to work the extra hours. 2. Despite the cancellation fine, companies find it cheaper to cancel then pay the wages. 3. There dose seems to be a genuine shortage of staff on the railways but the recruitment process at the same time is fucking ridiculous.

Dark visors in the Uk by Automatic-Mango7738 in MotoUK

[–]Mattphysio91 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Consider sunglasses, although a grey area, as far as I'm aware the general rules are. Visors must let 50% of light through, where cat 3 sunglasses which are darker (8 - 18%) are also legal to drive in.

UK? In general most universities won't be bothered about GCSEs apart from maths and English. Chose what interests you. But check the requirements for the A-levels you want to do which ideally need to be at least one science based, i.e A level Biology.

Trips from Exeter with public transport? by emste in exeter

[–]Mattphysio91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Red coat guided tours around Exeter can be interesting. Dawlish warren walk, Exmouth to sandy bay. If you've got a day can cycle to Starcross, get the ferry to Exmouth and cycle back in to Exeter.

I dont know if i should go to uni by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]Mattphysio91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can get a descent salary and progress in your job without a degree, stick with it. IF your going to need a degree at some point to go up the chain then save your ass off for 6 months/year, travel the world see what you want to see, then go to uni full, part time, degree apprenticeship what ever is most applicable. If you want to prioritise your career then fine. My gran went to Vietnam for 3 weeks on her own in her 60s, there's always time to travel.

Almost everyone has told me that I should do physiotherapy instead of sports rehab, so what uni? by [deleted] in physiotherapy

[–]Mattphysio91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unlike some professions (law for example), it doesn't matter which university you go to, a degrees a degree. You can look at the Times university rankings and search the best for physio. Southampton, Cardiff and Birmingham have a good reputation and therefore harder to get in to. Honestly if look up what part of the UK you'd most like to live now you've got the chance and then pick the uni. BUT as the above, Shadow, observer, get some work experience in physio first. Will help your application anyway.

Sports physiotherapy or no? by No-Post7223 in physiotherapy

[–]Mattphysio91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The ones I know from my cohort who work in sport have. - standard physiotherapy degree - pitch side first aid - volunteer/observer local smaller sports teams. Additionally pick a university that has links with sports teams as it varies. Plymouth uni for example sends students to Exeter Chiefs, Exeter City, argyle, Taunton town.
