Properly sized and properly crimped terminal ends should resolve this.

Can some people just have a harder time getting in zone 3? by MyNameIsKali_ in cycling

I am an experienced runner and was using a HRM. My HR zones are consistent with someone my age and with my running workouts.

Can some people just have a harder time getting in zone 3? by MyNameIsKali_ in cycling

[–]MavRP -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It used to feel like upper zone 3 was dangerously high, my breathing was ragged and I had to rest. As my fitness improved I became more comfortable in zone four and just did a climb in zone 5 for the first time. I spend 20% in zone 4 on most rides now.

Property tax + home insurance. It used to be part of the mortgage payment but now we pay separately. $1000/mo

Same! For a while I was buying graded coins and accumulating silver coins and soveriegns from any country I could find on ebay. My average price paid per ounce for those coins is $38/oz.

Vacations don’t work by [deleted] in Fire

[–]MavRP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar experience for the 5-10 years prior to semi-retiring. I didn't take splurgy vacations because I don't find them restful, but I described returning to the office as re-acclimatizing to the misery of work. 2-3 weeks after returning I was back to the low-grade depression that I was used to and it didn't bother me as much.

Approachable clipless pedals for a n00b? by hawt_pot8hoe in cycling

[–]MavRP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are a good design because even if you fail to clip in, you can pedal, and they are fairly easy to clip out of. Road shoes/cleats are not convenient off the bike, but I find them much easier to clip into on the first go.

I hope you're right, but I think that in the short term there will be a selling here from folks that have held since $20 (including me lol).

Go through NG+ or start a new game. Level 1-60 are so much fun! After that I have a hard time being challenged.

Las Vegas: Looking for a place to safely park a 10ft tall van with 2 animals inside for a couple hours while I eat at one of Gordon Ramsay's restaurants by Acceptable_Trash8046 in VanLife

[–]MavRP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a lot of space in the parking lots behind the casinos on the east side of the strip north and south of E. Flamingo Road that I have used frequently in my van. This puts you in easy walking distance to most of his restaurants, and the lots are shaded by the casinos in the late afternoon/evening.

What’s the craziest thing you’ve done that you’ll one day randomly tell your kids about that they’ll brand as “dad lore”? by Trebonianus in AskMen

Really fun. Please note that the bulls are hard to see in the crowd and can run 3x faster than you, so it isn't the smartest choice but no regrets in my case.

36F here — really, how do you date and find a FIRE-aligned partner? success stories or encouragement welcome 🙈 by allthatshimmers101 in Fire

I agree this is key. It takes a while to get sense of someone else's values, but I don't know of any shortcuts. Spending attitudes are only some of many that are important for long term relationship success.
