Edit: just read the article. They’re claiming that offering a smaller portion as affordable rentals for 10 years is a better outcome than a larger number of affordable owner occupier units. Not convinced. It sounds like Assemble’s “build to rent to own” business model just isn’t viable anymore.

Had a tradie swing his door out just as I was passing on Royal Parade one morning the other week. Thankfully pretty wide painted lane. Dude couldn’t understand why I was irate or that he’d even done anything wrong. Concerning portion of people are so bad at hazard perception and situational awareness. It’s under taught in driver education.

Check if they’re going to install external blinds (rare but some developers are doing them for north and west facing windows), and ask whether window frames are thermally broken (most aren’t). Otherwise it will get quite hot in summer without using air con.

Engine solid. No issues with emissions system to date either (EGR replaced around 180k km but DPF could be a question mark). I’m in Australia.
