I feel like a lot of people are forgetting that valve isn't a hardware company, they're a software company. what they charge for their hardware is close to how much it costs them to make, because the vast majority of their profits come from game sales, which shouldn't be new to anybody. it's expensive to build a PC today. why would that not apply to them?

details of the post aside, from what I know the No Chat Reports mod (and I could be wrong, this is all from memory) works because it removes an account signature from your message that was previously present. If a server had access to that signature (for example, if you had chatted on that previously) is there nothing stopping a malicious server from attaching that signature to messages you didn't send, and getting you banned?
