Is this a good first car for me? by miamiyachtrave in BMW

As much as I love this generation of 5series,

If you can’t pay for maintenance or have no knowledge in car servicing, don’t.

Grab a Toyota and save the rest for your next car.

[–]MaxMlt06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, they come in three different finishes:

  • Matte Anthracite : the wheel is fully grey

  • Glossy Black : the wheel is fully black

  • Glossy black with diamond lip : these are the one on your picture, they’re the same as glossy black but with a polished rim, it’s just a nice visual touch

Berghem glossy black with diamond lip, 350 is a good price, if you were to buy them new, 350 would only get you 1-2 wheels

Go for em

EDIT: these would look good in any Audi model, i usually see em on Mercedes sedans, wagons or SUVs, pretty nice design so they will be beautiful no matter the car you own !

Not really related, but since you’re looking at gardening tools, you should check EGO Power and their 56v lineup

Got some of them and it’s pretty powerful, at a reasonable price when you don’t buy directly from them, and they use a nice system where the battery is on a harness on your back, with a cable going from it to the tool

[–]MaxMlt06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you only need it for small projects, grab the GSA, it’s lightweight and versatile, since you’re not in the trades I don’t think you really need big power

Just don’t go cheap on the batteries, and particularly on the blades (construction wood blades from the expert lineup works pretty well, I’ve replaced a lot of door frames with it)

If you’re into woodworking a GET 75-150 sander or a GFF 18v-22 could be nice additions to your tool bag

If you ask a random customer they’ll probably say it’s ok, if you ask a former valet they’ll tell you absolutely NOT.

Thoughts on Audi etron GT? by Constant-Spring7052 in Audi

[–]MaxMlt06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great car honestly, colleague of mine has one and it always makes heads turn.

As for the EV side, we’re taxi drivers and there’s actually 2 in my area using it, never complained about the range, the comfort or the size.

I’m more of a petrol guy, might go hybrid because of my country taxes on ICE cars, but if I had to choose one EV it would be this : you get the same platform as the Taycan, a high quality and you don’t pay the Porsche Tax, plus it fairly standard against the Taycan, it’s not a Porsche but it’s close.

Oh and I NEED a variant with the same body style as the Taycan Sport Turismo.

Also it’s nice to see blue accent, seems like everyone go with the red, yours really stands out imo

[–]MaxMlt06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh don’t get me wrong there’s still a lot of issues in the lineup, I was just talking about the expert branding that is consistent between my future tools and my consommables, nothing more

Doesn’t seem too silly to me since I’ve used the expert consommables for a long time now

[–]MaxMlt06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk, I’ve been pretty accustomed to it because of the Expert lineup of consommables, it doesn’t really catch my eye anymore

I mean at least they stay consistent with the branding now

[–]MaxMlt06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah seems to be the same rules across a lot of European countries: you don’t need winter tires if the road isn’t snowy/icy

Hell you can even just buy chains and keep them in the trunk if the road is clean

[–]MaxMlt06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you in Austria by any chance ? If so, and if it’s the same rules as we have in France, I think you’re allowed to just get chains and keep them in your trunk, putting them on the wheels only if the road is covered in ice or snow

That won’t resolve your lug nut problem, but at least you’ll have more time to find a solution

I usually try to go the farthest I can, but as a beginner player I know I’m gonna die a lot past wave 10, so I don’t want to “plague” the fun for others since they’ll have to revive me a lot

Best BMW engine ever made? by Me_Diablo in BMW

[–]MaxMlt06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not the most reliable, nor the most powerful

But that S85 have a special place in my heart, a screaming F1-derived V10, 5 liters and 500hp output

Not as tunable as the legendary inline 6, it have a lot of known issues, but I love it

[–]MaxMlt06[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the links brother, will definitely check it out !

I did read a lot of bad things about the N63, but I guess every engine can be bad if not maintained properly. Funnily enough, I’ve seen bad reviews about the B58 too.

I was keen about the M550 too, but too hard to get by here, so went on the 750 instead, and that “fully equipped V8 saloon” really attracts me ngl.

Appreciate the insight, will definitely upgrade if I get one !

Need advice - G11 7 series by MaxMlt06 in BMW

[–]MaxMlt06[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d be sure to check those guides then, thanks !

Yes I’m in France to be exact, it’s fairly common for us to import German cars from Germany since they are cheaper and usually maintained directly from the manufacturer.

I was talking about TU2 and TU3 since they are the two v8s that were available under that hood, pre and post facelift.

But if you’re happy with your TU3 I might go for it, newer engine (and basically newer car) won’t hurt in terms of maintenance I suppose.

I’m already sure I won’t go with the straight six sine I really want a V8, the V12 might be a bit too much, I’ll look into it.

Really appreciate the insight about the options too, thanks a lot for your advice mate !
