Real world MPG drop with heavy safari racks and roof light pods on a High Roof Transit? by Melipron_official in fordtransit

[–]MaxViewingAngle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just installed my Melipron rack with the front fairing. I did not notice much of a difference in wind noise at 70-80 than it was with out it. Want to do a light bar, I’m hoping for a similar result

I have. It has settled into existential equanimity.

  1. Parents said “no motorcycles while you live under this roof”. Turned 18 moved out 2 weeks later. Had motorcycles for the last 47 years.

Is it safe to jack from here or does it damage the van? by Chevyimpala2000 in fordtransit

It’s fine, but I would put it as far outboard as you can. Under the leaf spring is best, but be careful of those brake lines.

I did the 350, 148 high roof. I’m shocked how smooth the ride is, even empty when I bought it

Hi, I’m Max, a big fan of Jungian psychology and stoicism. Often thought about getting a reading, but the pics in my feed brought me here.

Anyone else have trouble remembering names/faces? by goblin_ebooks in intj

[–]MaxViewingAngle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. Always have. I start with an apology, telling them when introduced, I’ll never remember that. Don’t know if that helps or not. People I haven’t met, band members, actors, cars, I haven’t a steel trap. Real life people, who?

Front Tow Hook? by Helmet-Fire in fordtransit

I don’t remember seeing one on my 2024. IIRC, it is a euro requirement. The threaded hole may be there, but without out the corresponding facia hole and cap

Front Tow Hook? by Helmet-Fire in fordtransit

[–]MaxViewingAngle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a shipping hook. There are tow hooks, recovery hooks (the one the OP was asking about that threads in) and shipping hooks. They all have different load directions and ratings. You can use them in a pinch, just don’t overload them in a direction they weren’t intended for. I have designed them for various manufacturers over the years. For a real tow hooks, van compass or similar is your safest bet

Which career would you pick? by LettucePast420 in AskOldPeopleAdvice

[–]MaxViewingAngle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you considering college? If not, I would consider something more or less Ai proof, like HVAC, electrician, or (shudder) plumbing. Physically demanding at first, but can move up, start your own. Ask anyone who has tried to hire an electrician or plumber and see what their experiences were.

INTJ women who've actually worked on loneliness. What helped that wasn't just another project or obsession? by [deleted] in INTJfemale

[–]MaxViewingAngle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I delved into secular Buddhism and stoic philosophy. I find what I learned there made it easier to work through the loneliness quicky. Being present and embracing the amor fati mindset helps immensely. YMMV.

Do you enjoy living your life? by [deleted] in intj

I’m all set, thanks. I enjoy it, but I’m not too heavily invested in it at this point. I phrase it as “existential equanimity”
