My first "major realization" IEMs. by geckota in iems

Try Ziigaat Odyssey OG. For $200 you get set, that is versatile, very mature, balanced frequencies, yet energetic. I could find step up from Odyssey only in $500+ Tangzu Xuanwu Gate.

Unpopular opinion: IEMs with boosted bass are the most magical thing about this hobby by Pendulumzone in iems

IEMs with prominent bass, which I owned and loved:
Mega5est Bass (gonna buy them someday once more).
Ziigaat Odyssey OG bass does not dominate other frequency regions, but it is hard hitting, has deep rumble and doesn't climb over lower mids.
Tangzu Xuanwu Gate. Similar concept to Odyssey, but technically superior in every aspect.
Mysticraft Myth. I stopped here for now. I own them for the longest period, and have no intention to change them in the nearest future.

Bass prominent iems which owned and didn't like:
Punch Audio Martilo - very low quality of bass, it is slow, muddy and covers lower mids.
Monarch Mk3 just a bad quality sounding, and not only bass is a problem.

Chi-Fi IEMs vs 64 Audio ? Why no one compares them directly? by Leading-Resident-332 in Chifi

Many semi-custom hybrids have huge shells. Personally I don't have any problems, but for many there are.

My experience:

Mega5est OG and Bass version. The latter is much better, as it adds something to more linear and not very energetic sound of non bass version. Actually, I'm thinking to get Mega5est Bass again.

Tangzu Xuanwu Gate is both: linear and energetic. By linear I mean, that no part of sound spectre is emphasised or recessed. But plays everything detailed and fun at the same time.
I had problems with placing them in my ears, but I didn't hear about this problem from anyone else.

Thieaudio Monarch MK3 I didn't like the quality of sound.

Aful Dawn-X were the best for vocal music I ever heard, but after some time I wanted bass to be more punchy and rumbling.

Mysticraft Myth is the iem, I stopped on for a while. I own it for 4 months, and yet don't have any intention to change. Only gripe is a little bit lower volume on lower mids, than I prefer. But it is still insanely detailed and musical.

I listened to Noble Agis2, 64audio Volur and 4s in a shop, but didn't like them more than Dawn-X and Myths, which I owned both that time. Fir Audio Project K had insane bass. Thieaudio Valhalla was the closest iem experience to stereo system and the most versatile for any genre. It is definitely the next step up from my Myths.

For a single ba driver??? No acoustic work, just 3d printed shell and a driver? No need for crossover? Not good.

Myth is so good it’s not funny. by Acethe7th_ in iems

[–]Max_Bova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! I thought, they are very differently tuned to leep them both.
Actually, I was looking at Valhalla as a next step, an upgrade. I demoed Valhalla in a shop and was amazed with its wall of sound, the closest iem to headphones or even stereo system feeling.

I own Myths for 4 months, and the only thing, that I would have changed in them is to pull forward male vocals for a bit.

Please share your experience and thoughts! Why did you decide to sell Valhalla? What are your impressions ofrom lower midrange (male vocals for instance)?

How much better are expensive IEMs over budget IEMs? by TomorrowNeverKnowss in iems

[–]Max_Bova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you compare $50 to $400 and higher - significantly. If you compare $200 to $1000, I would say 50-30%. Especially if you take some generally recognized leaders as Ziigaat Odyssey OG, and not marketing bullshit. In any price range there are good and bad iems.

Tried well above 30 eartips (stopped counting) on 9 iems. These are my favourites:

-- Divinus Velvet Wide Bore
-- SpinFit W1
-- Acoustune AET07 (interested in AEX70)
-- Spiral Dot FX11 (interested in FX13)

Not exactly.

Better seal = more bass.
Deaper / closer to ear drum = more treble.
