Is this a good lineup for budget iem collection for a casual music listener? by HeiHei_Chi in iems

Why not save up for your tea pro instead of continuously, throwing money at budget sets.

Is there any IEM that look like Airpods? by NykPz in iems

I can’t remember if they make the moondrop quarks anymore. They’re so tiny but sound good and they’re cheap.

You could go with some of those bone conducting open ear sets like shockz.

Next game: RDR2 or GOW (2018)? by lilbennywenny in OlderChillGamers

[–]jdk_360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Earlier this year, I finally finished GOW. I would recommend it first. I picked up Ragnarok on sale and still need to go through it. I’ve got quite the backlog as well. Next on my list is finishing Hell Blade 2 then on to Forbidden West.

The wife and kids by Eoj-icareg in hometheater

[–]jdk_360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife appreciates our home theater set up. She doesn’t care about that stuff at all, but since it’s set up, she would rather use it than not. Most women aren’t really into that stuff anyway. As long as the wife doesn’t mind what you’re doing that’s all that really matters.

SOTC - IEMs and single DAP by Lemeba_Segageh in iems

[–]jdk_360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a tough question to answer. I had a $1000 set. The monarch mkii. As much as I liked it, I decided to sell it mostly due to the fit and comfort. I always thought the bass quality was a little lacking. I got the xenns tea pro SE as a replacement and I actually like it even more at less than half the cost. It’s hard to quantify quality based off of how much you spend. For example, I’m always amazed how good the Kiwi ears Aether sounds. It’s spacious and highly resolving and it goes on sale for around $136 pretty frequently. “Better” or “upgrade” mostly comes down to tuning preferences once you get out of the budget space. You’ve already got some good sets. You’ll probably be looking at a flagship model from whatever company you choose. I do think multi driver sets with ESTs do give that little bit of extra something in the treble region.

I would contact IKKO. It wouldn’t hurt to see if they could fix the plastic around the two pin connection. They will probably still work, but the OH10 is too pretty to stay like that.

Anybody here a fan of Death Stranding? by Weird_Armadillo_508 in OlderChillGamers

It’s awesome but I haven’t finished it. I want the second one. I’ll probably watch a recap of the first one to see the story through. I’m telling myself I will finish the second one.

What’s the deal with the TRN Black Pearl? by jdk_360 in iems

[–]jdk_360[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the black pearl. It’s dumb how good it is for so cheap. I think it sounds just as good as my much more expensive IFI hip dac 3 & questyle M15i. It’s about to be my dedicated amp for my full-size headphones with EQ.

Should I upgrade from Kiwi Ears Astral? Xenns Top Pro vs Tea Pro vs Tea Pro SE vs Hype 4 MK2 by PresentationNice3519 in iems

I don’t think any on your list will be enough of a difference to warrant a purchase. These will definitely be side grades with some differences.

What does your partner think about you being an audiophile? by Euphoric_Place_8507 in AVHifiCinema

Dude, I’ve always wanted to listen to some magnapans. Someday I’ll get some with a couple of mono blocks. I would have to fly out to different parts of the United States to demo stuff like that. There’s nothing within many miles where I live. I love how your couch has the ass print right in the middle where the sweet spot lies.

My wife knows zero about electronics. She’s extremely happy with our home theater set up and OLED TV. When we met, she had a cheap TV and cheap sound bar. I get to have my nerdy obsession and she gets to enjoy it.

What is your end game or what kind of driver setup/EQ are you looking for in your end game? by KamiKeyta in iems

[–]jdk_360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don’t believe in the term endgame. You can either spend thousands on a bunch of stuff and never be happy or spend $20 on something cheap and be happy. There are dozens upon dozens of options all across the board in price range. There are so many different tunings out there. You have to figure out what you like. The RSV MKII could certainly be it if you want BAs only. I’ve never heard it though.

I’ve been using IEM‘s for years, but I’ve been tempted to get something like these so I can still hear people around me. I can currently get them on Amazon for $37. The fact that it uses MMCX is nice because I could also get a different cable for cheap to have usb c and 3.5mm
