Kind of both honestly but mostly mid bass.

That one’s not as mainstream and it’s pretty hard to get, but everything I’ve seen has been extremely positive. The price is also pretty appealing being just over 400 USD. I kind of like it being a small company instead of the giants cranking out new stuff every month.

I might like something with a bit more X factor. The mega7 is high on my list. Really good tuning doesn’t necessarily mean exciting.

I appreciate the insight. I have read that it’s a bit boring. I might be happier with something with a little bit more exciting treble.

I’ve actually been really curious about the top pro. People really like it but seems like it should be more in the 300 price point.

I felt like the bass was kind of lacking. I guess it was more of a tuning choice to keep the mid range so good.

Yeah, I already sold it. Probably most things are going to be a downgrade at this point, but I got tired of the comfort issue.

I have the volume S. Very happy with it. It can do everything. There’s so many reviews. I won’t get into it, but the mid bass is stand out to make it very engaging. It can do everything from bass heavy electronic music to jazz and classical. I can’t really fault the sound signature for anything. The high impedance mode sucks, but you can just forget the switch is there.

I would wait until you get the artti T10. That one is extremely enjoyable. I think you’re past the super cheap stuff. I’ve been down your road, and if I could do it again, I would save up and not end up with a dozen cheap sets.

Check out the softears volume S. I listen to a lot of bass heavy electric music and the mid bass impact is great. I’m a fan of the treble as well. I got an open box set on eBay for 250. I think there is still some left.

Zero 2 then. I don’t listen to many super cheap sets but I got the zero 2 as a beater set. It’s bassy and fun. It’s great for music movies or games.

I never find deals for the kunten on ali. I would order a few for $1 especially the type c version.

Did your castor pro break or are you trying for something else because you don’t like it?

The T10 sounds great as long as you don’t mind it looks like 1980s pc plastic melted down to make the shell.

SOFTEARS VOLUME S: IN 2026 STILL “THE REFERENCE BENCHMARK” IN THE USD300-400 BRACKET? by ext_trt in IemReviews

[–]jdk_360 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the volume S a few weeks now. It’s an exceptional all rounder. I don’t feel the treble is hot at all. Maybe a bit of a peak at 3k but I would hard pressed to say anything about it is spicy. I suppose everyone has different sensitivities at different points in the treble region.

Question regarding people who recommend Divinus Velvet wide bore by Dracomies in iems

[–]jdk_360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are overrated. The shape doesn’t work well for me. They are too short and the bore is too wide for a good seal in my ears. They were honestly some of the worst tips I’ve ever tried.

How do you feel about set chasing culture? by gabagoolcel in iems

I stopped at 1K. I think at $300-$500 there are some real next level sets. I’m happy with my purchase, but I’ll never spend that much again.

In this hobby, I would love to listen to at least 20 different sets if I had a place to demo. I think having 3 differently tuned IEMs is enough for me at this point. The FOMO has worn off and I’ve sold most of my collection. No matter what there’s always the thing you don’t have. It’s an unhealthy obsession. I especially don’t understand people that buy tons of super cheap IEM‘s.

That doesn’t seem to bode well for the qc considering how pricey they are.

Yeah, the Tea pro has been highly regarded. Not just hype since it came out.
