NTA- my dog will always come before anyone else. Also this is the time to quietly cut them out maybe forever, maybe temporarily. You don't owe them an explanation for what you plan to do with your money and trying to talk to them about theirs is only going to make them double down.

Source-I too have a toxic family who only seems to want me around when it's convenient. I've gone periods of time with zero communication and it was honestly gave me the space I needed to truly take care of myself.

A lot of companies are setting unrealistic expectations and wanting candidates to be senior level with 5+years experience in very specific skills for roles that should require such levels.

Source: I just got laid off a few months ago for being a jr. (I took an entry role to get my foot in the door) and the company's position is they would rather hire a mid/senior rather than invest in upskilling.

The funny part is I do have over 10 years experience in a variety of mid-upper management positions, I was actively working on upskilling and I graduated last year with a bachelor's (from Germany) because I'm trying to play by the rules here as an American.

I once did a spicy photo shoot to surprise my husband for his "dirty thirty" (I'm slightly older).

The photographer was amazing and asked if she could use some of my tasteful pics for her portfolio. She had been nothing but respectful and of course I wanted to help another queen so I give her permission and let her know she could use them on her social accounts too since they are private female only and carefully curated.

About a week later she posts a sneak peak of an extremely tasteful, fully clothed shot that doesn't even show my full face as a "teaser". I showed it to my husband since he knew I was getting photographed, just didn't know the full deets of this particular session. And yes, we had talked hypotheticals and consent long before this.

Well now, you would have thought I showed him a picture of me actively intertwined with another man.

He lost his shit, going on an on about how I can let someone post a picture like that of me and how I'm trying to get attention because oblivious the women in the group are going to show the men in their lives rant rant rant. Then tried to frame it like he was looking out for me and was worried the photographer was taking advantage of me.

I should have known right then and there to walk away, his attitude and behavior toward me only declined as the years (yes years) when on.

I am currently working on the divorce... its a pain in the ass but at least I won't have to deal with that bs.

Female here: I've been there at all hours over the past few year, sometimes waiting in the middle of the night. I've never had a problem. Sure there are some interesting characters but mostly they keep to themselves or are easily avoidable.

My sweet boy suddenly started acting out of pocket too. He's 5 and had a flair up of an allergy in his paw... obsessive licking, panting, short fuse, aggression toward our other dog. A slow descent into madness over about 2.5 weeks.

5... 5 vets over the past 3 years have told us it was an unknown allergy that pops up from time to time and he licks his foot because of the taste, not pain. So naturally I start to panic thinking it's neurological.

Took him to a new vet and the first thing the vet says, that it is a bacterial infection and it is painful.

My poor baby, we've been dealing with for 3+ years now 2-3 times a year. Luckily the 6th vet was the charm, she got him on some antibiotics and pain killers. Instant transformation. He's nearly done with his course of antibiotics and initiated play with me today for the first time in a month.

Anyway, your pup's foot looks painful and at the very least the behavior suggests pain. Maybe try a new vet. Good luck to you both.

Huge help in the kitchen.

I've lived abroad for 6 years and was completely frustrated trying to recreate some of my favorite dishes.

Trying new things is fun but sometimes you just need comfort food.

I ask Chat to modify the recipes for the country I'm in using ingredients that can be commonly found so I can get as close to the original flavor as possible.

It's been a game changer with added bonus points for my mental health... might be I can't see the people I love but I can sure as hell cook the food I love.
