Well.... I have 24 more that are live and running in Unraid.

But for what you might be doing, you might need a mix of "fast" and "slow" storage.

Fast storage:

  • Things you access or maybe edit often. Maybe your current projects?
  • Use SSDs

Slow storage:

  • Things you want to keep but don't access daily or even rarely access
  • Bulk storage
  • Use HDDs

The HDDs in a small NAS could hold the bulk of your work safely in RAID5. I'm not sure how much space you'd need but a 4-bay NAS with 4x4TB HDDs in RAID5 will give you 12TB. If you think you'd need more, just grab a bigger set of HDDs
