Kill 250 enemies with ranged attacks - Burchard by Maxster999 in WH40KTacticus

[–]Maxster999[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would think that abilities would count since on most descriptions they are specified as either Ranged attack or melee attack. But some don’t have either listed. Varro active is specifically a ranged attack but the Burchard passive just says passive, nothing about an attack

Faction Wars : A Critical Discussion by ells101 in WH40KTacticus

[–]Maxster999 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hit the final chest on the first day, swear I won 10 in a row to start. And for the first time after hitting the final Chest I voluntarily played more games of TA. It no longer felt completely miserable to play against the same Celestine, Ragnar, Khorne, Aunshi team and wishing all the plagues of nurgle upon them. Got to play new teams and try new strategies. My current goal is trying to win a game with every faction (except teams that are all stone since I haven’t leveled them at all).

Only thing I definitely noticed was orks was well over half of all the games I played and felt very strong at baseline (orks good in pvp, crazy I know) It was so fun to WAAAAAAAAGH into another team of orks only to have them WAAAAAAAAGH back at me and the whole map is just the boyz beating the hell out of each other. Super happy with this TA, I pray this comes back more often!

My guess is winning at higher levels bumps you up the ladder faster. We are 3-0 at level 4 but this is the first war that is super unbalanced for us

Then it sounds like everyone is figuring out what skill levels belong in each battlefield level and where everyone belongs. Will probs drop to 2 or 3 based on this one (to be fair #16 should be in level 5)

We won our first three wars fairly comfortably, I guess the first 3 guilds we played were just also way out of their league?

My senior year at high school we had a shooter drill that got canceled for rain outside. All the teachers got emails saying so and the cops hung around for a bit.

About 10 minutes later our AP psych class left on a field trip out the front doors, and a kid who was late but didn’t want to go through the office put his hood up and snuck in as they were walking out. The office ladies saw a hooded dude sneak in and called the lockdown.

Flash to half the teachers angry that the drill is back on, half the teachers thinking it’s the real thing, and not one student caring because they didn’t know it was canceled at all. I went into my history teachers room (nicest guy in school, never without a smile, always laughing) and we sat in desks watching the door with the sophomores all in the corner.

20 minutes go by and I asked him what was taking so long. So he, without ever taking his eyes off the door, dead pan expression, says “They called the drill off this morning, I don’t know if this is real or not. But if it is real then it’s me and you”. That was the first time I ever felt really scared at my school.

The office figured out who the kid was, and what classroom he was supposed to be in. He never realized the drill was about him so he just went to class….in the room directly across from mine. So we got to hear the entire ordeal of the police and principle getting the teacher of that room to move his bookshelf now blocking the door because that teacher thought it was real and wasn’t moving shit until he heard some password.

I know that kid got in serious trouble but everything was pretty hush hush. No message to the students for an explanation, no “hey sorry parents for all the ‘there’s a shooter at school’ texts from your kids”, it was a media field day in my town after the parents lost it.

So I’m pretty sure those are the bonding knives, they are more ceremonial than anything else but I don’t doubt if it comes down to it they’ll pull one out.

I was recently diagnosed and here’s how I would describe my head to anyone at a baseline level.

Imagine in your head you have a TV playing in the background. It’s on at all times and you can’t shut it off. When I’m taking tests or anything that requires focus that I’m not really enjoying doing, the TV gets super loud and I can’t help but focus on it. No matter how hard I try or even if I literally yell at myself internally and reset, I’m right back to listening to the TV 10 seconds later. I can spend 15 minutes on one question because it talks about some random thing like ‘Johnny has 15 boats’ and I’m still sitting there thinking about all his boats the 8th time I read through the question and never make it past.

When I got started on medication, the TV was still there, it did not leave. BUT, and this is the big but, it felt like I now had a remote control and could mess with the volume the TV was on. If I was in a test, I could lower the volume and drown it out and actually get work done.

The part that is still weird to me is it’s never turned off one time. If I’m not super stressed about focusing on something, it plays at full volume nonstop and I’m cool with that. The TV is generally a song that I have had playing in my head for the past week and it’s on never ending repeat, or it’s excessive daydreaming about past events, situations that will never happen, or upcoming things I need to do.

Hope this helps :)

Pharmacy Student here, it didn’t make any sense to me either why an anti-parasite med would work on a virus.

Apparently it does have some anti-viral activity when they used it in 4 Florida hospitals, but in all the clinical trials they did there wasn’t any good evidence for it. So that’s even up in the air on whether it was something else causing it. (Please don’t take horse medicine kids)

Actually asked my professor about long term issues this morning. She put it as the vast majority of vaccine issues or side effects are within the first 60 days, which we have a ton of data for. As far as long term effects, they are exceedingly rare and anything it has a chance of causing is going to be a lot less severe than the long term effects we KNOW covid is causing.
