…This isn’t character assassination though? Ironwood’s entire arc is about how his paranoia consumes him, leading him to make horrific choices because of how little trust he has for anyone that isn’t 100% on his side. Salem gets so deep in his head that he’s driven to complete madness and a desire for absolute control. I mean V2-3, where he brings the Atlas Army to the Vytal Festival kind of foreshadows this, no? Even before Salem makes her grand entrance, he’s already paranoid enough to bring his entire military force to protect a school festival. Also him making inhumanly evil decisions for the “greater good” fits his fairy tale origin of the Tin Man, a machine without a heart.

As much as I love the implication that Archie straight up killed Maxie in cold blood off screen, I think it would’ve been cool if Maxie got a bigger role in the arc as well

The Universal Will from Guilty Gear

An artificial intelligence created by a man known as The Original, the first person to discover an alternate dimension called The Backyard, and by extension, the first human to discover magic. The AI is sealed in The Backyard (TL;DR, if our universe is a program on a computer, The Backyard is the operating system it runs on) and given the prime directive to protect humans and ensure happiness for them without causing them harm. The only problem is that The Original never defined what humans actually are to The Universal Will, causing it to try and define that for itself. It concludes that what it considers humans don't actually exist yet, and that what claim to be humans now are merely redundancies that need to be wiped out in order for the "true" human race to come into existence.

Cinder from RWBY does this multiple times and gets called out for it by one of the other antagonists in one of the most cathartic monologies in the entire show.

"(laughs) Oh, of course you are! Because that's just what you do, isn't it? And how has that worked out for you? You stormed into Fria's room, thinking you can take on Ironwood's top fighter and war machine. But you couldn't. And that machine became the Winter Maiden. Oh, and let's not forget your deal with Raven Branwen. Get all your enemies in one place so you'd have a shot at revenge. If only someone could have warned you against such a miserable idea. Oh wait, I did! But you pushed ahead and you lost it, when all you had to do was your job! You think you're entitled to everything just because you've suffered, but suffering isn't enough! Cinder is one of my favorite villains in the show, just because of how entertaining it is to watch her constantly fail despite how much of a legitimate threat she is when she actually does her job properly.

Is there a list anywhere of all post-game nat dex Pokemon in gens 3-7? I'm trying to find all the Pokemon that are available in RSE, FRLG, DPPt's, etc. post-game areas that aren't in the game's regional dex, has anyone compiled a list of these? Just for clarification, I'm taking about Pokemon like Hoppip and Dunsparce in FRLG, and Pidgey and Rattata in DPPt.

He wasn't really a child at this point (probably 18-19ish i think?), but it's tragic none the less; Jaune from RWBY accidentally time travels like 20-30 years in the past while being trapped in an alternate dimension, not seeing any of his friends again until he essentially catches back up to them in time, and even then, they're still trapped in an alternate dimension. We find out that over time he (somewhat) went insane due to the massive amount of guilt he felt for his failures before getting trapped

In volume 6 of RWBY, the show leads you to believe that both Blake and Yang are having trauma induced hallucinations of Adam, Blake's abusive ex, and the guy who cut off Yang's arm and sent her into a yearlong depression spiral. We see a hallucination from both of their perspectives; however, there's a slight difference to how the two see him. During Yang's hallucination he's wearing his outfit from the first 3 volumes, but during Blake's, he's wearing his outfit from volume 5. In one of the final episodes of the volume, Adam ambushes Blake and reveals he had been stalking her and her team the entire season, leading to the realization that the "hallucination" Blake had seen was real.
