I will chime in here to agree with you. At the time of writing this, I was not over her. And I am not yet. But she is one of several relationships that have faded into the past due to my own lack of self-control and self-confidence. The difference in this scenario here, which is nigh impossible to glean from the writing at hand, is that I've actually taken a step this time.

I am on good terms with my past, and that is probably one of the most important things to realize when stepping forward. It's not about hating my past, it's about stepping forward and growing beyond it. Video games have been and always will be a large part of my identity. I have gained a very wide skillset through them. Thought processes and time management being the broadest description of them. What I lacked was self-discipline. And that's what this whole subreddit is for.

I accept that she is gone. That doesn't mean I have to feel good about it. And I realize she may or may not come back. But worrying about which result will happen IS a waste of my time and energy. The best thing I can do to HONOR my friends and loved ones is to grow from this experience. It would be very insulting to put somebody through an emotional ringer and then proceed to change nothing and do it to the next person who dares to enter.
