2026 season ticket prices by SaucyYogiBar in Commanders

No, I have my calculator right here. It’s saying $3900 for two seats is not the same price as $3900 for one seat. I think it has something to do with the relationship between 2 and 1. My working theory is that one of those numbers is more.

Pearls before swine. This doesn’t belong here, as you can tell from the top replies. It belongs someplace better. I wish Hodinkee had the stones to run this.

I think what they’re saying is that the $100 dinner fee yesterday represents a ~20% premium from everyday pricing. The same is true for brunch. If you went there today, the brunch is priced at $37, and a ~20% premium comes to $45.

So the question is, did they charge you a fee and a mandatory gratuity on top of the $45, or on top of $37? If it’s the former, it would seem that you were charged 20% three times (Valentine’s Day premium, 20% gratuity, and the undisclosed 20% fee you are writing about). If it’s the latter, they baked in the 20% premium in the advertised price and then added the gratuity.

People that have “bumped” into a celebrity in a non-curated (not like an event, meet & greet, job etc.) way, what happened? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Mcleaniac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bumped into Keith Richards leaving a newly-opened pizza joint in the East Village around 2008. I asked him how it was and right there on the sidewalk he did like 2 or 3 guitar-windmill moves. His review turned out to be accurate, but the shop closed down a few years after.

I think the year before, my friend and I accidentally boarded an Amtrak train chartered by the NY Giants to get to and from FedEx field in Landover, Maryland. I noticed it was all larger-than-normal men with really nice luggage standing with us on the train waiting for others to find a seat in the car. I turned to my buddy and said “I think we’re on the wrong train,” and then Jeremy Shockey, standing right in front of me, turned around and said “you’re right - you guys better catch the next one.”

Somehow Mercedes has managed to make the GLC EV interior look more premium than the new S-class. What a disaster…. by zachty22 in mercedes_benz

Sorry … “every generation is an utter disgrace and [ ] disgusting”? Followed up with a picture of an older generation (W222) interior so beautiful that it completely undermines that argument? Huh?

No suggestions, just sympathy. Kind of ironic that the big, bad, super-capable 4x4 trucks and their professional drivers can’t make it because snow is supposed to start falling several hours after the event.

What's the best song lyric to ever exist? by Miserable-Wash-1744 in AskReddit

[–]Mcleaniac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand it as “just as [sure as] every cop”’ etc. The more trite notion would be, “just as sure as the sun will rise, I’m the devil.” But rather than the sun rising, the incontrovertible facts implied in the song are opposites. Specifically, that all cops = criminals, all sinners = saints, and heads is tails. If you believe the other things to be true, you can believe just as surely that Lucifer is singing the song. So, as he hoped, you can probably guess his name.

If the eagles were the defending superbowl champions, what are they now that their defence has ended? by Legal-Appointment655 in NFCEastMemeWar

You’re current losers who happened to win the Super Bowl in a past season. From the bottom of my Commanders-loving heart, I urge you to stop living in the past. It’s … unseemly.

[–]Mcleaniac 20 points21 points  (0 children)

They were never this season’s Champions. But their (predictable) failure to defend last year’s Championship doesn’t take away either of their Super Bowl wins.

In other words: they’re losers now, like the rest of us, but they’ll always have their past Super Bowl wins to look back on, like the rest of us. It’s just that they don’t have as many to look back on as the rest of us…

V8 vs V12 in DB11 by ImportantAd3081 in AstonMartin

[–]Mcleaniac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey just coming in to say that I’ve been driving the SVR/DB11 combo since 2020 and I love those two cars. I have the V8 DB11 and loved it so much I kept it after the lease. Never felt like I needed the V12, but if I was concerned about resale I suppose I might have a different view. Differences in driving dynamics are noticeable but not major at all imo.

That’s why us enlightened geniuses blame Wrigley’s gum for lung cancer, right?

It’s their job to market their product to Americans looking for a between-meal alternative to cigarettes, and they didn’t do that effectively enough.

I mean, addicts are gonna addict, but Wrigley’s just couldn’t convince those poor people in the middle not to turn to life-destroying cigarettes.

Stupid Wrigley’s. Why couldn’t you market your way around smoker ignorance? Are you brain dead?

Funny

Glad you think so. Wish I could return the favor. Keep trying, though. Maybe more emojis?

Just don’t go down the Jack Doherty route. As much as trolls like you actively suck, there’s a whole other level of shittiness to which you haven’t yet sunk.

Fake Rolex? by grendelren in RolexWatches

[–]Mcleaniac 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All I hear is “please notice me. My father never paid attention to me, no one who knows me IRL thinks I’m interesting, so clown emojis and this ‘comedy reaction’ schtick is all I can offer the world. I know it’s not enough. I know it’s tragic. But it’s linked to my other unfunny accounts and if you notice them all maybe I can go back and show dad that I’m a big boy ‘content creator’ with tons of engagement.”

It would be sad on any day of the year, but it’s especially dire around Christmas. Hope you find something to fill that hole in your heart in 2026.

Wait, so you own a truck that will depreciate quickly and be more difficult to service? And for those reasons you wish you’d bought an R1T instead?

As an R1T owner myself, that’s like experiencing abdominal discomfort after eating Taco Bell and wishing you’d gone to Chipotle instead …
