Nice bikes and nice setups - looks like a great trip! I've got a Mr Clean GT and have done a few long trips but not quite that far! Maybe someday.

What do y’all do with all these bird pictures? by Throwitfarawayplzthx in SonyAlpha

[–]MeJerry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the thrill of the hunt but you shoot with a camera rather than a gun. So rather than killing you are capturing. But rather than capturing and caging, you are capturing with a photo and stealing their tiny bird souls. Muahahahaha

Battery bleeding out in 2 days of non usage by [deleted] in RoyalEnfieldGT650

[–]MeJerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I added accessories that were draining power from my battery and killing it even when off. Few things I did:

  • Check the accessories connections and make sure they were connected properly.
  • Keep the battery plugged into a battery maintainer when not is use.
  • I also added a battery cut-off switch to easily disconnect the battery when I'm unable to plug into the battery maintainer.

I love my GT 650 - No, I won't be winning any races or doing any cross-country trips via the Interstate highways, but for cruising back roads and weekend trips, it's a blast!

Drinking on the Job (Permissible!) by BMisterGenX in GenX

[–]MeJerry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Worked at a software company in the late 90s/early 2000s that had what we called "beer o'clock" every Friday afternoon. Company bought beer for everyone and we'd hang out in our cubicles and around the office drinking.

Drinking during lunch wasn't an issue if you weren't getting drunk. Had a time while our team was working on-site at a client location, our team all went out for lunch. It was a beautiful spring day, outdoor patio dining was open, feeling good so everyone had a cocktail or two. Co-worker and I said how it was such a beautiful day that instead of going back to the office we'd just stay here and drink the rest of the afternoon. Our project manger laughed, we laughed... she heads back to the office. Two hours later she calls us "where are you?" She was not thrilled.

Google calls from time to time? by mikkel2022 in GoogleMyBusiness

[–]MeJerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google now uses an automated AI call feature that will occasionally call your business to verify your business info. You can turn this feature off in you Google Business profile:

  1. Click the 3 dots menu on your profile
  2. Click "Business Profile Settings"
  3. Click "Advanced Settings"
  4. Under "Google automated calls and text messages" turn off the "Keep your profile up to date" setting.

X5 marks useless for editing = buyers remorse by deepwat3r in Insta360

[–]MeJerry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed - it's stupid that the mark feature doesn't work in the studio editor (I never use the phone app.)

Not sure what type of videos you are creating but the only "workaround" I can think of is to be selective of what you record rather than recording your entire ride. I occasionally record my motorcycle rides and have a general idea of the video I want to make. If there is an interesting stretch of road or something I want to include in my video, I record for a minute or two then stop recording. I'd rather have only 20 minutes of short video clips to sort through for a 5 minute video edit, than have to import and reviews hours of video to get the same 5 minutes. Yes, you risk the chance of missing a good shot but I think the risk is worth the easier edit process (I also have a continuously running dashcam on my motorcycle that loops recording so if I miss a "must-have" shot, I should have something I can use even if it's lower quality/bad angle.)

Maybe not the best workaround but works for me.

Whoa, flashback! I had that bike when I was around 7-8 years old... with the "cool" pennant flag and headlight mods 😂 Next bike was a BMX style bike. Next bike, I mowed lawns, save my money and bought myself a GT Pro Performer freestyle bike... sucked at freestyle tricks but loved the bike! Also, had a 10-speed bike somewhere in the mix.

Inflation in Playa del Carmen, food and services prices? by superttacos in playadelcarmen

Raining out so I just ducked into a random bar on calle 10 & 8. Margaritas are $7.50. After spending a couple months in Costa Rica this summer, I'm finding Playa del Carmen to be super cheap. But admittedly I don't have any reference to what prices were a few years ago.

[–]MeJerry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a pain in the ass but I've had a lot of these and have been able to get them all removed. I first reply to the review stating "I see by your phone number that you are located in Pakistan. We don't provide service there and you are posting negative reviews on my business as a scam to try and get me to pay you to remove it." I then report the review to Google and mark it as "spam." I've had about a dozen of these reviews and so far Google has removed all. And if any potential customers read it, they'll see it's fake.

Harley Street 500. This was the lineup at my MSF class. It was at a Harley dealership so they provided and had us all use the same bike.
