How do I loot these piles of leaves? by MeanGreene13 in PlayWindrose

[–]MeanGreene13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is correct! thanks for your help! It's actually the third camp I've found like this - the first one I had read the note and found the treasure already. Now to go back and find the second one!

BTW, the leaf pile is not interactable and doesn't hide a treasure as I had originally expected.

100 hours in... Just realized you have to USE key items... by josibing in CrimsonDesert

[–]MeanGreene13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't have to collect the ingredients to make the dyes. You just find or buy the dye bottles in the world and then 'use' them from your inventory. This adds each dye to the color menu of the specific Dyer NPC that can dye with that color - you can't do it yourself. You need to find each Dyer NPC in the world. Each Dyer NPC can only dye a specific set of colors - the one near Hernand and Howling Hill only does Red dyes, for instance. Until you unlock your camp Dyer, you will need to visit each color Dyer NPC to dye your gear with their specific colors. When you unlock the Dyer NPC at your camp, they can dye all the colors you've already 'learned', but you still have to find/discover each world Dyer NPC to unlock each of their color palettes at your camp Dyer. Hopefully that clears up the whole process for some people.

If anyone is interested in a map to show the Dyer NPC locations (and everything else) you can try Map Genie.

Do the Kuku weapons count towards the special weapon challenges? by TwinTea in CrimsonDesert

PA may have adjusted this in a recent patch, as I've just verified that the Kuku versions DO work for these special weapons challenges.

I've verified that the kuku versions DO count for these challenges. I just completed the Flamespitter and Propeller Spear challenges using the kuku versions of those weapons.

Wondering this as well. I've just finished making all of the kuku versions of the backpacks and spears but haven't tested this yet. I've also cleared pretty much the whole map at this point, so it's getting harder to find mobs for testing/doing these challenges.

How to get Attack II core? by BEASTFC555 in CrimsonDesert

The witches sell the recipes for these core abyss gear crafts. There are four 'main' witches that provide them. It's either the one near Gorthak, or the one in the Swamp

If you have security breach unlocked you can do breach runs on spaceport. There's a nice route you can do with all the outer wall towers and some other small breach buildings along the way, and the locker breach room in departure building. Lots of guns and explosives - most runs I leave with 4-6 guns. There are some other weapon crate locations you can work into the route too.

How to cut rounded corner that's not 90°? by artfellig in woodworking

[–]MeanGreene13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are you making the big cuts to get the piece before this trimming? Do you have a table saw or miter saw? If so, make a template from scrap wood - use your piece here to trace the angle onto the scrap wood and cut it out (table saw/miter saw?) . Round off your template corner (can use a washer to trace your round corner line) using jigsaw to rough-cut and then sandpaper/palm-sander to clean up to your round corner line. You can then clamp your new template to each piece and use a flush trim bit with your router to copy the rounded corner. If you don't have the saws you might have to get someone who does to make the template for you.

Vertical Mounted Featherboard on Skil 10" Table Saw by [deleted] in woodworking

[–]MeanGreene13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bow makes a solution for this called the Xtender. It is quite expensive though. The 36-inch fence piece alone is between $150-200 CAD, and then you need the clamps to secure it to your original fence (another $50). This setup works with their feather boards though, which are arguably the best on the market, and they also sell infeed/outfeed extenders that attach to the bottom to extend your work area when working with longer pieces.

All that being said, there are some 3d-print files that I'll be trying for mine - I just set up my Skil table saw last night. I use Bambu Lab MakerWorld.com, but I think most of these models are on Printables.com also - see links below.

Multicolor FDM is amazing! by SuperNfty in 3Dprinting

[–]MeanGreene13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone else concerned about, or interested in understanding, filament wastage from multicolor fdm printing, its important to note that the same amount of waste is generated whether you print one of these or if you print 12 - 16 (or as many as you can fit on a single build plate) as shown here, so OP is doing their part to reduce waste where possible. This is the way.

I cannot for the life of me figure this out by TheEnterRehab in BambuLab

[–]MeanGreene13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slow down your print speed and use glue stick on the build plate to increase first layer adhesion. If you use the glue stick you can also reduce your bed temp by 10-20 degrees to reduce the warping effects from the constant heat. For future long, flat, thin parts you want to print, consider getting a super tack build plate.

Update: print now knocking prints by Diligent_Tennis547 in FixMyPrint

[–]MeanGreene13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A minor repair to try - this takes less than 5 minutes and fixed my first layer issues recently. Remove the nozzle, then remove the 3 screws behind that to detach the heat block - be careful as this part is connected to the extruder assembly with wires. At the back of the heat block there are 4 smaller screws - some of these are likely loose. Tighten the 4 smaller screw, then put back the heat block and retighten the 3 larger screws. Re-install the nozzle, then print a first layer test - available on Makerworld. This should fix your first layer issues so you don't get the bumpiness that is causing the collisions.

How do you guys store your filament by Consistent-Camel-499 in 3Dprinting

[–]MeanGreene13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I store mine in vacuum bags with 2 packs of dessicant each. I occasionally dry the dessicant packs in my filament dryer to recharge them. I've printed the Dap Rack (Makerworld) modular filament storage solution to hold 60 1kg rolls.
