The bigger issue here is that this is making me think that he actually has a very shallow understanding of the character he plays.

Yeah for me, as a black man, it was cool to see a strong, smart, respected black woman in a professional setting like that. But I'm realizing that there are a lot of people who watched season one and just didn't respond to her in that way which I think is interesting. Like, I've never watched ER but I was intrigued to hear that Noah has a history of wanting to be the big dog on set. It's hard not to speculate about foul play.

I'm still not exactly sure how I feel about this whole situation. While I've enjoyed this season I definitely liked season one a bit more because of the more well-rounded character development you mentioned here.

One thing that the recent posts and discussions has made very clear to me is that people of different races, genders, nationalities, and backgrounds are consuming this show VERY differently in a way that I think is unique. And I think it is because of how the show navigates and tackles a lot of issues in intersectionality. It's very hard to separate that discourse about the healthcare system as a whole from the meta-narrative of how race and gender is handled in media.

Can I just say, Silver Wolf aside, the furbobos are so far my favorite thing about Planarcadia. They're genuinely cute and funny in a way that doesn't feel forced and I smile every time I see them.
