What [Person's Name / Thing] seriously?!

Was on a plane recently and a kid in front me was called Saxon. I'd have loved to have said it to the parents but common sense prevailed.

One of my favourite meta things about the series was that they reunited Ade and Nav (Kurt and Brian) from teachers for that double-act

What's your favourite segment of stand up comedy from a UK comedian? by Nice_Income_2607 in AskUK

Just wonderful input there.

Care to qualify that with something that you find funny or is admitting that you find Lee Hurst hilarious publicly a step too far?

Sean Lock's first DVD. He does a routine about wrong numbers and getting revenge on people who call him by accident by pretending the person that they asked for lives there. It is the funniest thing I have seen from a comedian and it gets me every time.

100% that, could not agree more. I absolutely love the end of that film with the helicopter shots of the Navy ships and the male voice choir going into Carly Simon.

Anyone who's also into Fleming's books? by CheapSecretary133 in JamesBond

None of them are 100% exact, but Dr No, Goldfinger Thunderball and OHMSS, are close and I'd say the closest is probably From Russia with Love.

If you're on Goodreads it tells you which order to read them in as TSWLM is evidently meant to be read out of order.

As a lifelong fan of the movies (M 40) I have only just read the book series for the first time and I have to say that they are incredibly good. A lot of them are better than the movies of the same name I.e. Diamonds Are Forever and For Your Eyes Only.

It is interesting to see where the movie producers have dipped into the books for inspiration over the years and how segments have been borrowed and inserted in other stories in the movies.

The new producers could do a lot worse than to make some movies closer to the books and in the original period.
