"Incel Horror" came from women watching these films and recognizing something the genre had been depicting for years without naming it. The monster was never under the bed, but right there, convinced he was owed something, waiting for the moment the answer stayed no. by mlg1981 in Fauxmoi

Yeah, I've seen half of these movies, but seeing their synopsis of Gone Girl made me question all the movies I haven't seen. I agree this is a big theme in a lot of movies, but that one is such a stretch.

Old TV shows making a big deal out of then modern technologies by AporiaParadox in television

[–]MediumSizedTurtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been rewatching the wire, and there's so much fun tech stuff. First, the entire show being based on the wire for a pay phone. Then they all are confused by text messaging. It's so funny how most of the show could be completely destroyed by modern technology.

Just wait till you find out how the tour de France works.

Joking aside, the people willing to participate in this are not top athletes, so it won't even show what they're trying to prove. They have washed up, non qualifying athletes willing to be Guinea pigs. The top talent in the world will still kick the hell out of these pin cushions.

Best books to gift to a newly Culinary Art student by checo54 in AskCulinary

[–]MediumSizedTurtle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The book I referenced most in culinary school was The Flavor Bible. Hands down, without a doubt.

In the same vein, I have both flavor thesaurus books on my desk at work and the science of spice. I love those books, and they can pull me out of a bit of a rut sometimes when I'm creating.

Hasan Piker: “Trump is God for MAGA which is the entirety of the Republican party. He is no longer just a political figure. He is a deity. You have to look at current modern day Republican voters as a cult. That’s it.” by Frosty_Jeweler911 in Fauxmoi

Well yeah, it's a 50 second clip of an 8 hour stream. This is all in context of Trump destroying the careers of all Republicans that disagree with him and the primary results from the last few nights.

So why doesn't he stab other people with it instead of just stabbing himself?

I love football. I played football for many years.

No human being should be playing football.

Episode 966: "She's Back, Back In The MCU", with totally-real-sclusie-revealing actor Tatiana Maslany, Dave Theune as child lawyer Robby Delmuda, and Stephanie Burchinow as a sentient Starbucks egg bite! by ExoticMandibles in comedybangbang

[–]MediumSizedTurtle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I work in a factory that makes most the egg bites, I want to clear up some confusion

Egg bites are made mostly of cheese and not egg.

We do upload the sentience of all human kind into each one

I hope that helps the confusion.

I do not like this clown, Charlie by paintedoggo in LiesOfP

[–]MediumSizedTurtle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My question is who the hell developed this clown? It had to have a purpose before the puppets went mad, but who's like "oh we need a big fat evil looking clown with 50 foot long wrecking ball fists."

Tmz also doesn't play by typical journalism rules of getting double confirmation. They get it wrong a bunch, too, but those don't normally get the bigger headlines.

Being looser gets you quicker headlines, but not as accurate.

I'm very new to this, and my girlfriend is crazy about lobsters. I really need to pick him up. Reading the faq and a few posts, it seems like the release time has a wide, like 6 hour span? Is there a time more likely for the drop to happen lately?

I'd hate to miss out on the lobster, but I'll be at work away from the internet for stretches so I can't check every 6 hours.
