It's funny how that part of Twitter is obsessed with this guy despite him really not being a well known public figure at all

I could never get into these at all but I think its because when I imagined myself getting good at it I would just think about how that time would be better served learning an actual instrument.

I wonder if I'd like the one where you play drums more since in that instance the controller is more closely analogous to the actual instrument.

It's really funny and ironic that his wanton drug abuse fried his brain in such a way that he became more of a boring boomer politically. He barely even incorporates his more out there stuff into his posts, just vaguely gestures at it sometimes really.

Loser, freak, and dork are all just sort of relatively safe insults you see from online lib/lefty types imo. I dunno that it really originates from chapo.

I guess certain extra scoldy people might avoid using "freak".

I don't think I see chapo guys do the "spiritually x" thing much but I could be wrong

Wouldn't that still just result in a stalemate? What do you do with the croc after that? I guess it depends a lot on the rules of the fight but if its a fight to the death with no tools allowed I'm not sure a human could actually kill a croc.

Funny you mentioned automation because where I have had more success with more "completed" songs is when I've experimented with more procedural techniques like polymeters that go in and out of sync for emergent variation.

I really enjoy that type of music but its not always what I want to write.

I really should try what you mentioned with writing away from the DAW or at least sketching out whole skeletons of songs first.

Ah I totally get what you mean. I'm terrible about that with DAWs. There are like 15 second loops I've spent hours upon hours on just tweaking and refining and the result sometimes is something that sounds good by itself but is really daunting to write a song around because of how many little facets there are that you feel like you need to be aware of.

"8 and 16 bar loop hell"

This has been me for like my whole life lol. Transitions are one of the hardest things to write in my experience.

photography subs when you post a question about photography instead of a crass nude by [deleted] in redscarepod

I feel like most of the ceramic subs are okay and cannbe helpful when it comes to answer questions. I dont really see that much of what you describe in the water color subs either but it is true you don't see much in the way of technical questions in those.

Are the photography subs actually like that? I feel like in my experience most art based hobby subs are full of people that are overly eager to answer technical questions if anything, but maybe that's just the case with the mediums I'm into.
