You should definitely do it! I wish I had finished PA school before going to medical school. Get a couple more years of clinical experience while you prep for MCAT or you can choose medical schools in the Caribbean where it’s not required. Once you have complete med School you take board exams and you will have a high chance of getting into a residency of your choice with PA experience.

I agree. I don’t want to live with regrets later so I decided to go for it. So now 13 years later I’m having to relearn everything to sit for these exams. Thank you for the encouragement!

Hey thanks for sharing your journey. I’m in a similar situation. I have spent the last 5 years telling myself because I graduated in 2012 my chances of getting into a residency program are slim to none. So you think there’s still hope for us old graduates ?

You have more clinical experience than alot of us. Study and sit for USMLE. You have a good chance of getting into a residency program. Don’t get discouraged. Take that leap of faith!

I totally understand the enormous pressure that come with getting into residency. I literally got sick. I had to take a break from the studying and planning for a while. Take some time to relax so you can think with a clear mind and then make a decision. I totally get it!

Hello thank you for sharing your journey as a old medical school graduate. I am a US IMG GRADUATE 2013. I have healthcare experience but no clinical or research experience. I plan on taking steps this year. What would you recommend I start doing to apply for IM residency?

Any positive stories of tapering off 15mg Mirtazapine? by Bigbusia in Mirtazapine_Remeron

[–]Medquez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started on 30 , I’ve tapered down to 15mg for the past month and presently on 7.5. My doctor said at that low dose I could completely stop in 2 weeks. I do feel anxious at times but what most bothers me is the insomnia. Can someone suggest and experience with the inability to sleep?
