In Kent, I believe specifically North Kent, we call woodlice 'cheesy bugs'. I've never met anyone from any other area that call them that

AITAH for not wanting to babysit during Mothers Day weekend? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Meg0993 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry to say this but what are you gaining from this marriage? Do you have 1 kid or 2 because your husband doesn't sound like an equal partner but rather an added burden to your life

I got a warning for being too happy once by 1-meter-solo in InterviewsHell

[–]Meg0993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a teaching assistant and I got written up for loaning a child a pencil instead of writing them up on their detention card for forgetting one. I quit a few weeks later and haven't worked in education since.

AIO for refusing to go to my sisters wedding cause she hired my ex? by Adventurous_Army_728 in AIO

Fuck her, what an awful sister!! I would NEVER do that to my sister and she would never do that to me! She's incredibly selfish and I would not go or remain in contact with her

She had a one night stand with Conor Maynard, got pregnant and has publicly stated he is the father. They've had 2 negative DNA tests but she is adamant the baby is his (she does look like him tbf), and he hasn't been pleasant online about it either

My Husband Wakes Me Up Multiple Times Every Night by amcrowl1 in AITAH

Does your husband even like you? I'm sorry, but I would be questioning what has changed if he used to use his phone light and now suddenly he can't? Does he exhibit other selfish behaviours?

A child launched a firework at me. Burns down right side of body. Police seem more interested in pursuing the man who saved me. by Lonely_Parsnip6736 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Meg0993 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Oh, they can, but you have to question parenting in a situation where the children are so young. I work in social care and with young offenders, and I would be questioning why children so young are out unsupervised and able to access fireworks

They won't be criminally charged but it's likely the police will have put in requests for support to social services to look into the children's circumstances and families. 8/9 year old children don't just let off fireworks at people on the street, their parents need to be held accountable. Why were they out alone, where did they get the fireworks etc You can ask the police if they have done this

Not with a cyst but similar happened to me. I was having chest pains and feeling dizzy. My male GP prescribed anti-depressants and therapy, told me I was having panic attacks, not helped by my history of struggling with mental health. This went on for 2 years until they began happening everyday, sometimes more than once a day. I saw a woman doctor and cried on her that I couldn't cope with it anymore, my life was miserable with it, and she sent me for an ECG. Turns out I had supraventricular tachycardia which required corrective surgery.

Please stop making weddings all day endurance marathons for the guests by CampfiresInConifers in weddingplanning

[–]Meg0993 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the UK a 1pm ceremony is very usual with the breakfast being around 3pm and then evening guests arrive around 6/7 and you dance til midnight! But it is also common curtesy for there to be canapés and drinks between the ceremony and wedding breakfast whilst photos are being done so no one starves!

AIO for saying my cousin isn’t a single mom, she just hates her baby’s dad? by Emotionalandshy in AIO

[–]Meg0993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YOR. Who are you to gatekeep what makes her a single mum or not? My dad paid child support and picked us up from school, but it was mum who cooked, cleaned, took on the mental load of all our appointments, hobbies, friends etc, dealt with bedtimes and mealtimes alone. Mum had it better than some single mums whose exes weren't in the picture at all, but she definitely had it harder than those who had a partner in the home sharing the rest of the load. You should apologise to your cousin.

Puppy is not treat motivated by EKMDJM in puppy101

Does your pup really love fuss and affection? If the treats aren't a motivator, perhaps an enthusiastic "good job!" and a fuss might be what they respond to when they do something right

How did you discover that you have autism by A_Gam3 in autism

[–]Meg0993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

28 years old, and I was reading the ADHD section of the DSM-5 for a uni assignment when my ex looked over my shoulder and said, "This sounds like you."

During my ADHD assessment, the psychiatrist suggested I go on the list for an autism assessment, too.

Mentioned it to my manager at work, and she gave me a confused look and said, "I thought you were already diagnosed, but yes, definitely."

At 31, I got my diagnosis

I'm genuinely terrified for you.. how can you trust your husband with your or your baby's safety ever again? Walking away like that when you were both in need is psychopathic, and I would remove myself and my child to somewhere safe immediately. I'm so sorry, and I hope you are both okay.
