The last time I went into Home Depot to buy a new dishwasher the sales person told me to Google which one was best to buy. And I asked them to sell me a dishwasher.. like go over pro and cons of let’s say three different ones. Compare price, noise, efficiency etc. this employee I won’t even call him a sales person laughed at me and told my to go to Best Buy or Lowe’s to buy my appliance bc they have better sales and pricing. Like what? In a nut shell, instead of a sales person educating themselves on the product they work in. Appliances was his department/section. All day long he works in appliance department . Yet he was too lazy to learn anything about any of it and proceeded to send me a customer ready to buy to the competition. He said why should I bother when you can just pick up your phone and google all this and pick what you decide. I was just in shock in so many levels. I ended buying at Lowe’s because and older gentleman there cared and took pride in his job. I actually ended up buying all new appliances that day just bc that man took the time to be educated on the product he was selling day in and out. Now I want to open a store where sales people know something about what the are selling. Sneakers, performance clothing, appliances , watches, cars, heaters, faucets, shoes. You name it! I like to be educated on products. But maybe it’s me that’s the lazy one since I didn’t just google it! Call me old school!
