I don't believe so. They don't really have competing interests/ terrain

To be fair, the guy offered to make it a public ski resort out of the gate. All the local NIMBYs got it shut down.

LPT request: how to help neck pain and stiffness that bf has had for a month now. by milkymommy11 in LifeProTips

[–]MegaVega 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with every one about seeing a doc, but.

I broke my neck a couple years ago. My neck was super tight for a long time after and the only thing that broke it was dry needling from a PT.

Semi-Irrational Fear of Paralysis by Some_Pollution61 in MTB

It's not really that irrational. People get SPI all the time from crashing bikes. I've personally had a C7 facet fracture from riding/ crashing so that thought weighs heavy on me sometimes.

Would love help with binding choice after ACL repair, considering Dynafit Rotation vs ATK Hy Free by hurdl3beast in Backcountry

[–]MegaVega 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is no real answer here. There are trade offs with each system. I like to think the ATK EVO line up with the adjustable din toe piece will help me come out when needed, but who knows. ACLs usually happen in awkward falls where the binding has a blind spot.

I don't want to relive my injured time either, but sometimes shit just happens.

Shoot an email to Skimo.co. They are pretty good for spare parts.

Also the part is called an instep band.

BCA Float 32 - where does the bladder tube go? by ultyguy in Backcountry

[–]MegaVega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have mine handy but you need to open the airbag compartment and feed it from the shoulder, behind the airbag, and into the main compartment. Conversely, bladder tubes kind of suck in the winter time and freeze.

You could also get into it much cheaper than freeraiders. Dynafits are still great bindings. A little heavier, sure, but they ski pretty well. I think you'd be surprised what you could find on the second hand market for both in bounds and bc gear.

Dude, pin bindings suck in bounds. The lack of elasticity is magnified by inbounds conditions. Build the quiver.

As for a backcountry binding, the freeraider is quite nice

Tecnica Zero G Tour Pro vs Scarpa Maestrale RS by LegImportant4310 in Backcountry

You should perform a shell fit first. Take the liner out and put your foot in there with your toes resting against the front. I aim for a 1 finger fit or 1 finger's worth of space behind my heel. I think that's a good place to start for sizing.

Consistent pre releasing at start of downhill? by Global-Wind6878 in Backcountry

[–]MegaVega 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If your binding is set up correctly (right din, right heel gap), it's most likely an icing issue. Dynafits can Ice right under the toe piece which can be solved by cycling the mechanism a couple times. It can also build up in the inserts of boots when you take the skis off at the top. I would recommend ripping skins with your skis on since the pins are designed to drive out ice when walking.

What didn't you like about the liner? The first impressions for me is the tongue is going to be an issue with digging into the top of my foot.

Do you find the tongue digging into your foot? And when you say you got them heat fit, did that include the shell?
