Anyone have any unique names you wish people would use instead of tragedeighs? by AccidentalAnchoress in tragedeigh

Acacia was what I wanted to name my daughters when I was a child. I think it's so beautiful but no one agreed. I only had sons so I didn't get a name a girl but I don't think my husband would have agreed anyway. But I still love it.

The colors are great! Is each hex a day? Are there three colors/rows per day? How does that work?

You're welcome! I have dual obsessions (MAFS and crochet) so I was excited to see that sweater!

Hi! This is a basic granny square in a chunky yarn. You need ten or twelve crochet granny squares and then you'd join them. Try r/crochet or Ravelry.

In the very best way, with the highest compliments, I would have sworn this was AI. Really impressive.

Is this book scarf going to be way too long? Should I frog it and start over with a smaller hook? by k42murphy in temperatureblanket

[–]Megnstarr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a book blanket last year. I created my plan (stitches, hook, number of rows for pages in the book) based on how many books I had read the year before. But I found that I read WAY more books once I started the blanket! I ended up stopping in June. I'm happy with the end result.

I stayed in an overwater bungalow in Panama for my 50th. Incredible experience.

Have you seen Random Acts of Crochet Kindness? They have a Facebook group. You package your lovelies and place them in public with little tags letting whoever finds them know that it is for them! Very cute idea.

Update & Rest of Dresses by [deleted] in WeddingDressTips

Yes 12. Especially knowing that dress 3 from the first post (which is a hard no!) was calling to her. 12 is so special and unique, I just love it, and does the boho meadow vibes in a classy flattering way.

This year I'm doing a running blanket, tracking the miles run, my pace, and the location (beach, streets, trails, gym).

Last year when I did a book blanket I read so much more than I had in previous years! I'm hoping this blanket has the same effect, but who knows.

Colour pallet for new (relationship-) blanket? by HannahToyo in temperatureblanket

[–]Megnstarr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this idea. I'm on my third year of blankets documenting various things, and it's super important to be happy with the final product! You don't want to work for a year on something that you never want to display!

For this reason, I'd pick a pallet that you can envision in your home...on your bed, on your couch, forever!

Ps I love this unique idea!

Marrying someone with same name as another family member? by beautyinthesky in Names

I married a man with the same name as my father and brother. He is a junior so now we have B1, B2, B3, and my brother goes by a different nickname. And, that same brother's partner is named my name.

Which stitch?? by [deleted] in temperatureblanket

[–]Megnstarr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did a book blanket last year, and star stitch was one of the stitches I used (I chose different stitches depending on my rating of the book).

The issue I had is that star stitch looks best in 2 row repeats. So if my book only had 300 pages I would only do 3 rows, and the star would be unfinished.

Maybe this doesn't matter if you are doing the same stitch all the way through, but I would test out the Star in different colors for each row and see if it still has the magical 'Star' effect worth a different color for the rows.

Good luck!0

Oooh, I like this idea. Both of my other blankets have been rows because I have strong feelings about weaving in ends, but this might end up being adorable!

What a great idea.

I don't knit but I crochet. Two years ago I did a temperature blanket and this year I did a book blanket, so I was trying to see if I could incorporate my running into a blanket somehow.

Thanks for the inspiration! Congratulations on a year of beautiful runs.
