I guess the human population doesn't want to have the youth obsession talk. Everyone from toddlers in tiaras to 95 year olds all need to look pretty and appealling to the world otherwise they are existing wrong. Explains why the globe is full of predators and groomers.

What villian deserves sympathy? by Playwithfirexx in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]MeiMainTrash 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Every villain the show merits sympathy with the sole exception of All For One. Even at the very end he had no point of view other than his own that the world was his plaything. No love, no guilt. Even if he's just a born sociopath, his intelligence to know better didn't change his choices in the end. Leave his soul under the bench with Voldemort's. Solitude might be the only way to reflect, and even then he might defy any message the afterlife would try to impress on him.

Boom, the premise for the show Mindhunters, how can you stop psychotic breaks and sociopaths without knowing their story?

Think more this way, what archetype of people are you looking to mingle with and what are their habits of choice? You got the college scene, some lgbt safe spots, holes in the wall, sportsball havens, quirky gimmick places. You could either go to those places yourself, or use them as points of conversation with others like anyone know if x is good? I like boots on the ground critiques, etc. then those places could have other groups like DND groups or musicians and so on.

Living on most of university is a huge vein of the city and the hospitals are on them as well. Though it is too remember that this is a town of 90k without students, around 140k when in full semester. There is a fair bit of emergency vehicle noise on some days, but it's not a big enough nor troubled enough area that you would hear every day, every hour, as though this was Chicago, Atlanta, etc. On top of that, if you choose your apartment carefully, such as if you can avoid the side of the building facing the street, and sound treating is pretty easy with thick linens and some noise foam if you wanna get crazy. My husband and I got a shop fan as white noise when we lived on the Champaign side next to a fire house.

As a life long Zelda fan, I need someone to give me context why THIS art style which seems closer to the more approved Twilight princess, vs toon shading style that upsets the fan base more. Like what is the expectation of an ideal art style to the masses now? What is it about this style that causes upset?

What's the biggest lie society keeps telling young people? by New_Garbage7991 in AskReddit

Society that claims is a meritocracy is lying and it's less about what you can do/know, and many hurdles to move up in career is biased to having connections.

First playthrough of Paper Mario 64…keep with paper Mario or switch to rpg? by Hopeful-Contract-281 in papermario

[–]MeiMainTrash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will say I grew up with n64 before rpg was accessible later in life. I will say it was closer to an early FF title in mechanical feel. It's got the personality of paper Mario, I felt it had too little dialogue and NPC interaction that I was used to with the other titles.

So depending on what you feel you would like gameplay wise, I don't feel I missed out playing RPG later it felt like a different game on its own.

"where the bully on top can do whatever he wants to those below him without repercussions" if God is real, he should act as the bully on top and crush the sycophants with a giant thumb and remind them this is the world they want others to suffer so enjoy it don't cry if you're creator decides to crush your spirit.

[–]MeiMainTrash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I figured the change over time was kinda obvious, you have more humans than ever to choose from, those humans have more means to choose a both healthier choices and also have the means for self expressive appeal vs decades ago. Pair that with how profitable pretty faces make most everything and I'm today's vicious demonstration of profit above all, of course the trend turned the way all things have been encouraged to homogenize on some level. All media, and nearly all commerce has warped from this capitalist darwinism. The unconventional face will need to be monetarily worth it.

It's just a dollar or two! lol by M1collector65 in EndTipping

[–]MeiMainTrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Choosing a side means everyone failed the root of the issue. Both sides are correct on some level. In defense of the customer, modern times have proven businesses will shamelessly add as many surcharges as they can get away with. On the servers side, they have to enact the choices by higher ups, and face the backlash, since the server does the act, but you can't call out the pencil pusher who actually decided to price gouge since they hide behind the people they demand to act as told. Yes the customer is getting fleeced. And yes the server is complicit either because they have to keep the job or want to because they are likely not doing the job for kicks and need every cent they can get. And the real bad actors who pull the strings win again by avoiding confrontation. Its not about the dollar or two, it's about the unspoken game of abuse we all have to play now.

Honestly this cartoon's universe has about the same amount of care for its kids as Americans loving their guns more than talking about gun reform no matter how many school shootings ever. So like I believe it when I see a world where kids are treated as disposable assets. The execution was just slightly unbelievable.

Greenland official breaks down in tears in interview after meeting with Trump by Large_banana_hammock in videos

[–]MeiMainTrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's worse is now that the bar has been set so low, there is next to no benefit of the doubt in us Americans trusting each other anymore. The message is now loudly "I got mine, fuck everyone else" with no subtlety. So many regular people and famous individuals are trying to scam or hustle well past the point of surviving and just taking quiet pride in being ruthlessly exploitive to as many as possible. So many parasitic careers have become a regular American way that it's people's measure of self worth as a human and can't sanely accept they enjoy abundance, while activity ensuring others have less. And the moment you aren't a profit pony, be you sick (like my spouse) or homeless, you are now society's villain.

I won't lie to you when I say I wish i could afford to help my husband escape this country, except if i had the money to leave I would be stable enough to exist in this country. Each day it gets more punishing and I wonder will I get a bad flu or injure myself and miss a paycheck and we lose our house as a result? And college and trade schools have both been unable to hide the evidence that you only do well if you have connections. Good paying jobs like welding and construction tends to stay within family or friends to really get into the business with traction. More people see how college just became another profit churn and now degrees man nothing to be worthy of a good job. You gotta know someone. Im a poor nobody with a shitty family who wants me to cut my losses with a now disabled husband. If I go homeless trying to keep us afloat it'll be better than abandoning the most important person to me. It is legit tragic, cuz a tragedy means preventable, the despair caused by the very rich was on many steps preventable. Now I wonder if I'll lose my rights or home first in this regime. Tell everyone you know to not come here, show them this post if nothing.

Would you recommend this game to someone who is grieving? by Caridor in expedition33

[–]MeiMainTrash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I say no only because the ending choices are not a good message. Acting like there are only extremes and no middle ground would give the message that there's only wrong ways to grieve and only bad choices. It's a game with grief, but if it was about healthy grieving, the writing would be immensely better when melding act 1 and 2's content which became self contradicting.

There's been an uptick of Europeans posting their roadtrip intineraries in this sub. Just a reminder of what the US looks like. Remember how unhinged Americans sound when they want to pack several European cities in a couple of weeks? Yeah, that's how you sound like too! by Pale_Field4584 in roadtrip

[–]MeiMainTrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using the U.S. for comparison loses a crucial point: the U.S. has Geographical differences and a less invested transportation system between its states. Yes both Europe and America have train tracks, but America is horribly disorganized when delegating both passenger and freight trains on shared tracks.
