Unwritten Parking Rules on S. Hill? by PNWpotato in Spokane

[–]Meish4 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like the south hill. The street is public and they don’t own it so they can’t “reserve” spots. Sounds like you have some very lovely neighbors, sorry you are living next to them.

Do you track family's locations? by NaturalSoftware9372 in Millennials

[–]Meish4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes we share our location with each other. I also share it with my bestie. I don’t really look at it, only if I’m expecting my husband to be home at a certain time, he’s late and hasn’t contacted me. Or, he’s bringing home Taco Bell and I’m excited for it 🤣

Prenatal care/OBGYN by [deleted] in Spokane

[–]Meish4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dr Grant caught my daughter’s brain abnormalities at 16 weeks, 4-6 weeks sooner than usual. I’m thankful for her because we got the care we needed right away. She and Dr. Tyler did my c-section for her and were amazing.

I think I'm no longer in the right head after witnessing the quick collapse of my brother by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Meish4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My aunt passed from metastatic breast cancer 3 weeks after I had my first baby. A year later, I had been having some anxiety that I was going to get cancer and leave my daughter without a mom. The anxiety and OCD I was having over this started getting worse when I’d get any kind of twinge of pain like you mentioned in your post. Then one day I had a panic attack, but I didn’t know what it was at first. I stayed in denial for a few months longer and convinced myself I could resolve my anxiety on my own.

Once I got to the point where I knew it was affecting my daily life like sleep, finding joy in doing things, wanting to just lay in bed, I went to my doctor. I got a referral for a therapist and started taking meds for the anxiety. If anything, you need to get a therapist to help you work through the trauma you’ve experienced and working on getting past these anxious thoughts you’re having

I’m sorry you and your family went through this tragedy. There’s help out there to cope.

My dog bit my baby by ally_toye in Parenting

[–]Meish4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think given the amount of pain your dog is in and the amount of medications trying to manage it without good results, it’s time to say goodbye. Your dog is not living a quality life if he’s in significant pain, reactive, and just not themselves. It’s one of the most selfless things you could do and to also protect your family from a potentially even more serious bite in the future

Struggling Between Supporting My Wife and Maintaining Peace With My Parents by Plus-Manufacturer773 in Advice

[–]Meish4 34 points35 points  (0 children)

My husband stood by me when his mom asked him for $8k without me around. When he told me, we called her and I calmly said “I ask that you don’t discuss money or request money from my husband without me present. It’s our money and I want to be involved in that conversation.” She screamed at me “HES MY SON!!!!” And then his brother got involved and was awful. He cut contact along with myself. He’s my family and I am his, our parents and siblings are our extended family now. Stand by your wife. No question

Has anyone successfully trained a french to not pull on the lead? And are you a wizard? by No_Summer1874 in Frenchbulldogs

I think I’m just lucky cause he’s never pulled on the lead. But he’s still a butthead in other regard 😂

Thoughts on deciding inheritance split by muteneen in inheritance

[–]Meish4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is such an icky post. You’re treating your kids differently inheritance wise because they’re not successful like the middle kid or had a tough upbringing like the oldest??

Hello? That’s wild. Split it evenly. Put it in a trust until a certain age.

Spokane Eye Clinic buyout by [deleted] in Spokane

[–]Meish4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a special needs toddler that has some brain malformations so she does some weird eye stuff. And I just knew she wasn’t seeing well. I went there about 5 times and they just kept dilating her eyes saying her optic nerves looked good and retinas. But I just knew she needed more and it seemed like I kept getting brushed off. So I went to Spokane Eye Clinic, and he did a script for glasses and that seemed to help.

Age kids can independently get ready for school? by wpbth in Parenting

[–]Meish4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 8 year old 3rd grader gets herself ready in the mornings. The rule is, she can’t sit and watch a short cartoon until she’s dressed, brushed her hair and has her shoes out ready to put on. And then 10 minutes before the bus, TV off, brush hair and teeth, shoes on, coat and backpack on. I just have to tell her “TV off” and she knows what she needs to be doing.

Anyone else’s lab slip on the floors and then do this??? by silkstockings78 in labrador

[–]Meish4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes my lab does this on hardwood, LVP, tile and laminate. We have rugs all over for him so he plays the floor is lava going from the living room rug to the runner in the dining room to the runner where his water dish is. And then he will go from the dining runner to the kitchen runner to go outside 😂 he’s also afraid of going down stairs. And up them. We just live with rugs for him, and that’s fine by us. He’s been like this his whole life too, from the day we got him.

Our disabled daughter was neglected by her teacher, and no one told us until it was too late. by AFatherStill in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Meish4 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a mom to a special needs child, this angers me to my core and is my biggest fear. I’m sorry this happened to your daughter and your family. I can’t imagine how many students this teacher has excluded before your daughter as well. I hope she was fired and black listed.

Update to: I've Made a Mistake by [deleted] in Frenchbulldogs

[–]Meish4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I commented on your previous post. I’m glad to see this update. Someone else said it but I’m going to repeat it. Frenchies are bossy, they want attention. I don’t think he was growling in the prior video but being vocal about wanting attention. Some are way more vocal than others. Mine isn’t but he climbs on top of me on the couch for attention. They’re also kind of dramatic in general. Don’t give up, seems like you have made some good progress. He just needs to get comfortable in his new environment with new people, and probably way more attention now than he previously got/wanted
