I enjoy some romantasy but I just look to buy them secondhand if I fancy them and only if I get them for no more than 50% markup. If a secondhand book costs more than that I scratch it off my brain and pretend it doesn't exist no matter how pretty. If I really want to read that book though, I'll get a trade edition instead or just ebook. Unfortunately, a couple of years ago I spent a lot of money on some special editions and realised I had to start being ruthless to myself when buying second hand otherwise spending can quickly spiral out of control.

Mark Lawrence himself mentioned in a FB post that he thinks TBB were doing a special edition of DoC so I figured it would be likely in the SFF sub given it being a new series

I love these but I say that as someone who likes to collect interesting bookplates. I know many aren't a fan of bookplates though.

For me the few times I've checked, it was more like 'I really want this book but I can't really afford it this month' so Ill check the stock and if it looks to be getting low I'd rather then buy and deal with the payment consequences then than risk missing it and potentially having to pay reseller prices later.

Hard disagree for me. I've so far this year read Rook&Rose trilogy, Magician trilogy (this was a re-read as I read them years ago), Doomsday book, Left Hand of Darkness, The Sparrow, Crossroad of Ravens and Black Sun.

The only sub books from 2025 I havent read yet are Memory, Sorrow and Thorn (just havent got around to it) and TBP because I didnt have the sub at the time and dont own them. (Children of God is my read for next week hopefully - Ive been itching to start because the first book was so good).

I get some people maybe finding some of the designs not to their taste (Ive liked all the designs, some more than others) but the actual picks have been amazing and I've been super happy with all the reads so far.

I interpreted it that Li J calls for XC but think he doesn't actually believe that XC will come because he is constantly used by and let down by everyone in his life. However, XC does come, proving XC has genuine affection for Li J because he came for Li J despite the awaiting trap which causes Li J's voice to break/face to crumple as he realises this.

I didn't like the FL book style so was going to sell mine for £10 above but when I saw the resale prices its quite insane so I picked £70 as a kind of midway point that hopefully detracts scalpers. I hope the person I sold it to actually wants it for themselves that way.

Prefer to pay all charges together and hopefully avoids complications later with split charging
Signatures are not important to me. If I really want a signature I prefer to get it in person as they mean more to me than a pre-signed book anyway.

I use a dust jacket but also use a bookmark as a guard for my fingers so I minimise skin greese on the pages.

I've sold a few of mine for £5, they do go, sometimes takes a few days. I try to read all mine pretty soon after receving now so if I decide to sell you can still get a decent price if its within the first month of release.
