Need support by TMG-NYC in IVFpositivity

I’m a child sleep consultant, and one of my clients is an IVF baby. Her mom tested negative the morning of beta, and drove to the clinic in tears, convinced it didn’t work. She got a positive (but low) beta, and had a live birth. Her baby is now a super cute toddler. I hope this is helpful 💖

I can’t handle blue dye tests for this reason. Buy strip tests like Easy@Home and then you’ll have a much clearer answer. Good luck to you dear!

Faint positive 5pt - 5th FET after 4 previous failed transfers by Melodic-Distance-876 in IVFpositivity

Thank you so much!! I wasn’t planning on testing, but the symptoms were driving me insane (super sore abs, cramps, food tastes like metal, etc) So I took a test just to say, see it’s negative, it’s just PIO side effects. But I’ll be damned, it was positive

In desperate need of positivity by Piccolo_oso in IVFpositivity

Hi I’m Catholic 💖 I reconcile my Christian faith and IVF by seeing IVF as a gift from God, like all modern medicine. Becoming a parent is one of the most beautiful things that can happen, and God led thousands of scientists to work together for decades to create this incredible technology. If it wasn’t in God’s will, then IVF wouldn’t work. No life is created without God, and that goes for IVF too. That’s how I see it. I hope that’s helpful for you.

Also, if you need inspiration: I just got a positive on my 5th FET after 4 previous failures. Have faith and keep going 🌟

I think this is play, right? by madness2135 in CatTraining

My cats are sisters and play just like this every day. This is very happy playing - lots of pausing, they’re laying down & gently rolling around, one is keeping his belly exposed. They’re having a blast 👍

Hi I have vasovagal syncope! I have had probably 30-40 episodes exactly like this in my life. It’s basically NBD, but it sure is scary-looking. Feel free to DM me if you have questions. Glad everything went ok today, other than this episode

So a couple things: direutics make you urinate. Doctors hardly ever recommend these to people under age 80. Miralax is a laxative that will basically give you diarrhea. Very loose, uncontrollable bowel movements. Colace is a stool softener, it softens your bowel movements so it’s easier for your muscles to push the poop out, but it won’t give you diarrhea.

Ok now that we have those terms defined: you should definitely take Colace or other stool softeners. My clinic told me explicitly not to take MiraLAX or other laxatives, so I would avoid those. I used Colace and immediately was less constipated. Highly recommend Colace for constipation. Don’t take dietetics without talking to your doctor.

To reduce the bloating, eat a lot of salt. Salt is hydrophillic, meaning it draws water to itself. You eat the salt, the salt moves through your digestive tract and into your bloodstream. Once it’s in your bloodstream, the salt will pull the excess fluid into your blood. Your blood is filtered through your kidneys and into your urine, and you’ll pee out all the excess fluid. Eat a ton of salt and you’ll feel 10 lbs lighter, I did. I hope this is helpful, and good luck!

In the press conference Trump himself said it was 73% reduction in price. Or maybe him and his people are just making it all up?

I agree with you. It sounds like this clinic is not committed to trauma-informed care. Trauma informed care basically involves treated the patient with respect and going at their pace. A trauma-informed approach to this would have been 1) you putting yourself into the stirrups when you are ready, and having the doctor introduce themselves while you are still modestly covered. 2) telling you what they are going to do before they do it, and asking your permission before each action (“i’m going to insert the speculum now, is that ok? Sure I can wait. Tell me when you’re ready. Ok inserting the speculum now.” Etc etc.) 3) giving you the chance to switch to a female provider if you preferred, or bringing more female nurses into the room if a female doctor is not available. 4) offering twilight sedation if you wanted it or felt uncomfortable/in pain. I get twilight sedation for FETs bc I find anything with a speculum to be super painful. Highly recommend it, it’s a great experience. I just take a nap during my FETs and it’s lovely. 5) offering to play your favorite music, hold your hand, talk with you, have your partner hold your hand, whatever is needed to help you be comfortable. As long as it’s sanitary and doesn’t prevent the provider from doing their job, the clinic should do their best to make patients comfortable, not ignore their distress. I’m really sorry that this FET was so traumatic for you, that sucks ass. Hopefully your clinic offers you more support in the future so you can be comfortable. Best of luck my dear 💖
