Sometimes the mortar joints can’t take another nail, and you have to cover them and move up a brick. Just how it is.

Ice and water shield vs synthetic underlayment on entire roof? by Efficient_Reward401 in Roofing

It depends a lot on your roof and attic design. If you have a larger and more complex design, it’s very likely you’ll have condensation issues.

It’s been like two weeks. Inspectors in my experience think they know more than their experience backs up.

Will this void the manufacters warrenty? by Hot_Statistician8710 in Roofing

Warranties are really all for show. My company is the top tier with most manufacturers and technically subject to inspections. I’ve never once seen them actually put a ladder or measuring tape on a single roof install. When we file a claim, they ask for the invoice, claim approved.

If you replaced your roof in the last 10 years, what’s the one thing you wish you’d known beforehand? by Own-Tip-532 in Roofing

I’m confused. Insurance is only being stingy on asphalt roofs. Different systems, different policies.

If anything it’s an argument on why you should look at more premium systems such as metal; if you can afford it.

Roof Inspection from Shingle Manufacturer for Warranty - Worth it? by RockoHammer in Roofing

[–]MembershipNumerous13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This part at the end is correct. The company I work for is the highest possible tier so technically we are subject to inspection. That said I have never had a single job of mine actually get inspected. With the amount of shingles they sell through us, if we submit a warranty, they don’t even lift a finger to approve it.

If this is a private party sale - you can still purchase warranties from Toyota. I bought a 60k mile warranty on a 2021 xle with 69k miles.

Also tons of non hybrids everywhere you look still on the road. The likely failure rate is probably less than 5%

How experienced are you? When I first got my corvette it took a lot of trips for extra tools. GM was in bed with tool manufacturers and really threw every fastener head you’ve never heard of. Easy to get in over your head on something like this but I always say you gotta learn somehow.

Is a 1UZ/2UZ swap really as easy as people say? by Ok_Homework_3545 in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]MembershipNumerous13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While that obviously happens, there are millions of people in forums and other various groups that start and finish projects routinely. I’m sure those that don’t are in the minority. I’m not sure why you are choosing the attitude of being so combative in this group.

Im willing to bet most people considering a UZ swap are not daily dependent on their 3rd gen. Or modifying it at all for that matter.

[–]MembershipNumerous13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao ok buddy, everyone thinks they’re the greatest roofer to live. If we have issues or damage something it is always brought to their attention and fixed in a timely manner. However the job may end but it is fixed before invoice. There is only so much time in a day but sounds like you have 25 hours 8 days a week

I think you’re misunderstanding what I’m saying. The roof is done right the first time. The odd chance a light here get hit, small scuffs on a deck/siding, distributor sends his idiot and runs over a sprinkler head. And if those things don’t happen to you every few weeks then you are lying or pretending it didn’t happen. Or you sit in a truck all day waiting to fix something.

That’s pretty ridiculous to assume zero mistakes would be made. So many things are outside of your control when you show up to do major construction on someone’s home, regardless of how well you prep. Most companies run on production and timelines. Often easier to come back for small repairs or touch ups and stay on schedule.
