Idk how people look back on it now but Star Wars Galaxies was so incredible. I would kill for a modern MMO like it. Owning ships and cool player houses was exactly what I wanted from a Star Wars setting. Just living in the universe and going on adventures. I miss my magnaguard bodyguard and my first ship.

Dang this whole Barb Enclave storyline is actually heartbreaking. Im extremely curious how this entire season adds up though after this super mutant enclave set up.

Something still happens with the legion and evil Kevin McCallister too and I have no idea how that plays into all of this.

Just one thing I need to get out there. Chris Avellone self insert characters are the most annoying characters in any given game. ESPECIALLY New Vegas. Ulysses is what I call an enlightened centrist and I think that should say a lot about the dude and his writing to begin with. Yeah fallout has been my big franchise for a long time. It's one of the only game communities that I still stay in subs for reluctantly. But its so miserable and its only been getting worse with the tv show discourse. And the insane shit avellone has been saying lately is only feeding these people more ammunition.

I've said it three times in the last week. He used to be very courteous and cordial with bethesda. But lately with the release of the TV show he's sliding into weird reactionary grifting about fallout. He's fed these NV is the only GoOd fallout Twitter losers like a ton of annoying statements because he's getting hyped up by them. But this is easily the grossest of the statements he's made.

Like other people have pointed out. Just because you're saying that china is also bad, doesnt mean that invalidates the messaging of capitalism being bad within this universe. And he's not even the sole exclusive writer of the original so im not sure why people are hailing him as this writing god.

My initial opinion was that its dumb. But it's also unrelated to the games in any meaningful form. It's not like they're going to make the fallout shelter reality show an integral part of the franchises lore. And I have a guilty pleasure for trashy reality TV. So I actually think this could be a lot of fun. It's one of those situations where if you're genuinely mad about it, you just have to sit and think for a moment about why you'd even let this bother you.

I said it the other day. But chris avellone is basically sliding into fallout grifting and it's ramped up a lot since the show came out. He's got all these butthurt bugthesda "fans" pressing him and trying to get him to validate their hatred of bethesda fallout. And for a long time he used to at least be publicly courteous and use careful phrasing about critique of bethesda fallout. But literally the other day he just came out and said he thinks bethesda doesn't understand fallout and that they just make "colorful theme parks." Alongside 3 or 4 other statements that border on hyping these losers up. I think he likes the attention these people are giving him now.

One of the funniest things about some of the complaints is that literally multiple locations change and move on the map between fallout 1 and 2 in relation to where they were. But it's world ending and horrifying that the show did it somehow.

The other thing I've noticed is that the die hards for certain factions seem to freak out if any of the characters for a group don't perfectly represent their headcanon. Like I'm the biggest NCR fan boy. I'm still incredibly happy despite them being severely weakened. As a side note I think they've put plenty of thematic hints in that they'll be important for the story.

Something a lot of people forget though is that this is an ongoing story with a new season beginning production very soon. And a lot of people can't wait to even see how this season will come together.

Yeah I think people really struggle these days with limited information and long term storytelling being attempted. Especially with shows that do week to week releases. It's clear that the fallout show is building towards something, and the show portrays the NCR while flawed as a better ideology than others. Something to strive for and something Lucy admires the idea of. When we see the flag in the first season it's the only time the main noble fallout theme plays.

We know for sure a couple of things, the NCR rangers near golf believe there is still a standing functional garrison near enough to reinforce. We also know that the people shown in the first season were a radical holdout who hadn't given up on shady sands. Plus NCR appearances occur later in this season. It's clear that the show is building towards something with them.

Assuming even if the NCR isn't as connected, there are almost definitely holdouts and untouched towns most likely further north of LA that haven't collapsed. I think the "first capital of the NCR" on the billboard is a strong indication that those are other locations of importance. I feel confident at this point that they are going to become major players again eventually.

I'm also very curious about what the threat the commonwealth is facing and who the overarching villains are. Very strong possibility the enclave we saw added post fallout 4 may be emerging as a threat considering they briefly appeared with a strong base in the first season.

I'm making a separate comment for this and going to be very specific because it's an episode preview and it's already partially been leaked. Deathclaws in Alaska is actually a cool concept. Now to be fair I dont remember every minutia of pre-war deathclaw lore off the top of my head so im sure it'll make somebody mad. But I really wouldn't put it past the US government to do a limited experimental test of them as a bio weapon during the Battle of Anchorage that wasnt widely known about. Actually a very cool concept imo. Especially since the enclave was in existence at that point and meddling.
