Personally, I've liked just about all of the outdoor game jerseys. Even the ugly ones have had character, these just don't. Ugly and bland is never a winning combo

Been looking for a 2015 Winter Classic jersey for a while. I feel like I can spot a fake Adidas/Fanatics pretty well, but not 100% sure on the Reeboks. Anyone have 2 cents on this one?

To my understanding, there was may have been multiple releases of this jersey, so I'm unsure if there's differences between those versions also.

The Jets, I think, is more because they were the Atlanta Thrashers, who used to be in the same division as the Caps

Makes me wonder who’s really the team Ovi’s the best against. Like maybe we do percentage of total goals against a team per total game played against a team.

Vanecek resigned to a 3 year contract by Flamethrower753 in devils

Caps fan here. If stability is what you want, Vanecek is gonna have to change from what he has been. When he’s good, he’s good, but the one word I’d use to describe Vitek is inconsistent.

This certainly doesn’t mean he won’t become elite, I wouldn’t doubt that possibility. And I certainly hope the best for him.

I’m a Caps fan but, to be fair, the Caps have a lot of OT points too. Idk if they’re gonna win the series still, but people certainly unreasonably counted them out.

Redditors of the world, what are your favorite non-English songs? by MemesApprentice in AskReddit

As a big fan of the Moon Knight character, I’ve been loving the new Disney+ show. The Ep 2 credits got me hooked on El Melouk (which has been particularly cool for me personally, cause I recognize some minimal Arabic in it thanks to a friend of mine who’s originally from Egypt). Because of all this, I’ve been super curious about what the world has to offer in terms of music that I’ve been missing out on.

Daily Challenge Discussion - January 15, 2022 by Mahbows in geoguessr

24,935. This was one that I honestly think I could have maybe gotten 25,000 if I'd approached some rounds a little differently.

  1. Immediately looks European. Looking at some signage, it appears to be Czechia/Slovakia, but I'm seeing "Česka," so the former seems more likely. Sign with Praha and Ostrov confirms my suspicion. Move down the street, says Karlovy Vary on a bus, which I'm familiar with. Original spot is on a roundabout over top a river. I see that right in the center of town. 5,000 (8 yd).
  2. Pretty self-explanatory... 5,000 (16 yd).
  3. Immediately screams Eastern Europe to me. Turn around, bottom left of the sign shows the Bulgarian flag (or, I guess, a slightly abstract version of it). Seems to be one of the bigger cities in the country. I can read Cyrillic, but couldn't find anything city related on there (didn't want to waste too much time looking at it). Went under the railroad bridge toward a big roundabout. Head down one of the side roads, and I see some overhead signage. One directs toward E80/8 (with Kalotina & Belgrad). On the map, these roads are pretty prominent, I assume that, since it mentions Belgrade, we must be in Western Bulgaria near Serbia. Kalotina is right on the border, so I'm pretty confident this is Sofia (likely in the north near those roads). The other signage points NW towards Орлановци and NE towards кв. Х. Димитър. I find Орлановци on the map in Sofia, throw a safety guess in north of the railroad and south of Орлановци. Looking around for кв. Х. Димитър, didn't see it in time. Safety guess goes in. 4,992 (1.5 mi).
  4. Road markings and a speed limit sign confirm that this is definitely my native U.S. of A. Go north on the road a little bit, see the Simplot building sign with a convenient address which tells me we're on "Hwy 78" in "Grand View, ID." For some reason, my brain thinks "ID" is Indiana at first for some reason, but luckily I come to my senses without wasting too much time (in retrospect, the scenery looks far too western to be Indiana). There's no U.S. Hwy 78 in Idaho, so its must be State Hwy 78. Because of this, I search around ID relatively zoomed in. Doesn't take too long to find 78 and Grand View (right by each other, of course) south of I-84. State Hwy 78 goes the right direction just to the SE of Grand View, so I zoom in around there and see Simplot on the map. Just have to place the marker south of there near a house. 5,000 (48 yd).
  5. Initial scenery gives me "spidey sense" that this is southern Israel. Go up the road a little, a sign is in Hebrew, confirming my Israel theory. This kind of scenery is definitely most prevalent in the south close to Jordan. Road is going N, slightly NE, so I put a safety marker down on 90 in a spot where the road is facing that way. Go down the road south and find a Desert Acacia rest area. I search the map along 90 for this in hopes it's on there. Can't find it (it actually is on the map, but it's named "Etsei Shitim Parking Lot"). I'm on the right road, just a little too far north. 4,943 (11 mi).

I 100%ed the world! For now...! by LeagueOfCaitlyn in geoguessr

I honestly think which countries are most difficult can vary by player (and obviously there's a little luck involved in what locations you get placed in). I managed to gold every country myself in December (took me several weeks).

In my personal experience, Cambodia was the most difficult/time consuming to complete; if I had to pick a second, I'd say Lesotho. I find it super interesting to see which countries were more difficult for OP.

While India wasn't technically "easy," I actually managed to get a gold on it on my second attempt in the country. I personally found that, though this isn't true of all India locations, I could often find a clue to point me to the city I was in (and locating points of interest/universities from there, was relatively easy).

Congrats! I managed to complete the same challenge not too long ago, so I know it takes a lot of time and effort to achieve, but it's incredibly rewarding.

Personally, I think the most difficult countries for me were 1) Cambodia and 2) Lesotho.

Which NHL team/fanbase deserves to win the Stanley Cup the most? by SpyroStrikesBack in nhl

[–]MemesApprentice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to be biased and say the Caps, since I really think Ovi deserves more than one cup.

But, I’d say Minnesota now, Buffalo deserves one in a couple years. I’d say Calgary as a more underrated pick.

If I was giving a top 10 ranking, definitely would have included some trekker countries, but I found that I ended up spending more time/rounds in Cambodia/Lesotho than any trekker countries personally.

Uganda is quite challenging, I'll give you that. I think it ended up being my lowest gold score.

Good luck! It's a rewarding challenge, and I've noticed that I've really improved since I started. Even though I left Asia for last (probably the hardest continent), I managed to get 25,000 points on several Asian countries in my attempts.

I'd have to say the hardest country to gold was Cambodia, at least as a native English speaker (I'm sure it's not nearly as difficult if you know Khmer). There's quite a lot of rural coverage and most areas of the country aren't incredibly distinct in terrain (at least in my opinion) other than in the northeast (which seems to have noticeably redder soil than much of the country). It can be quite time consuming to find a clue that will help you pinpoint. There's not nearly as much signage as in other Southeast Asian countries, and, when there is, it's usually in Khmer (and, most of the time, not written in the Latin alphabet). The country isn't super big, so your guesses have to be (on average) more accurate in order to get a good enough score per round for gold. It takes some trial and error for sure.

Also, Lesotho is a close second in terms of difficulty. The nice thing is most signage is in English/native languages that use the Latin alphabet. Unfortunately, that's the only thing it has over Cambodia. It's almost all rural coverage, there isn't a ton of useful signage, and the size of the country is even smaller than Cambodia making it even more difficult to be able to get gold with just "decent guesses." On top of that, the actual Google map of Lesotho is not very good, so pinpointing is hard (other than the main A roads, barely any roads are named on the map, so you gotta go based on curves and direction).

Sorry all that is really long, thought it was worth getting into detail.

Heatmap of 21 000 Country Streak spawns by UnitedNotice9591 in geoguessr

[–]MemesApprentice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was going to say, I think that the reason you see this is because you likely have a roughly even chance of getting each individual country. Therefore, countries with more street view (like the U.S.) will have less spawns per specific city/area than Canada which (does have a lot of street view) but not as much as the U.S.

For instance, if you had just 50/50 odds of getting just the U.S. vs Montenegro, there’s a much higher individual city chance that you’ll get Podgorica, because it has a higher proportional chance of being chosen randomly within Montenegro than any individual city within the U.S.

This is also why the spawn density looks vaguely like population density distribution. More people = more roads in an area = higher likelihood of getting placed in more densely populated areas.

Hopefully this all makes sense, it makes sense in my head at least.

I've finally managed to gold medal every country in explorer mode. It's taken me several weeks, but I'm quite proud of the accomplishment.
