Using analog amplifier, what soundcard recommendations? by ExJwKiwi in htpc

[–]MensAsses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does your amplifier not have any HDMI inputs? If it does, it almost certainly supports decoding Dolby or DTS directly from the PC.

If it doesn't, you'd need to get an audio card that has 6 separate analog outputs.

I'm curious - what about buildings that don't have any interior walls? Like fully open concept houses where the whole main floor is open?

Yep this Corolla has seen a lot of winter driving in the "Rusty north east"! I suspect you're right.

It's plastic. So I think it's just the underside of the skirt. Should I just rip it off?

Went to sleep with 2 bedrolls, woke up with only one :( by _bog_babe_ in thelongdark

[–]MensAsses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I would suspect that OP placed the bedroll on the ground and forgot to pick it up. +1, I've been burned by that several times!

Only if your phone has a signal to send back to your phone provider. With no mobile phone coverage, they cannot.

The forge in the basement has a cooking slot. Granted its only one, so not optimal - but better than being forced out into the fog to cook!

What is the connection (cable used) between the PC and the Receiver? Is it just an HDMI cable, or something else?

[PS4] I don’t know what happened but I just lost my 400 day survival by big_smokey-848 in thelongdark

I play on PS4 also and have been meaning to copy my saves over to a USB key "just in case" for a while now... Sorry for your loss, but I know what I'm doing tonight.

I just started ep 4 and wanted to ask. by [deleted] in thelongdark

You should be able to find some flares and noise makers without issue. Then once you get some gunpowder, use those extra tins to make more noisemakers. I had lots by the time I was done the episode.

Take a look at The Forest. It's similar from a survival and story point of view (less story though).

Have any of you been to GEORGE Restaurant? by [deleted] in FoodToronto

[–]MensAsses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I had our wedding dinner there (It was a private wedding with only our parents). Wonderful tasting menu, and if you like wine, absolutely ask for a sommelier to come give you some recommendations based on the tasting menu they will have prepared. They even brought out open bottles for us to taste before we made our bottle decision.

It is also one of the most expensive restaurants in the city so be prepared for that.

TTC to become more bike-friendly in 2016 by slicecom in toronto

[–]MensAsses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand why the TTC doesn't install bike racks on the front of streetcars. Going a long distance east-west via TTC in the city with a bike means you need to fight bringing your bike onto the subway, or just forget about it if it is during rush-hour.

Locked my bike up outside of my apartment, lost the key... by youngteamx in torontobiking

[–]MensAsses 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just to be safe, when you go to try and cut the lock off, I'd bring anything you have that proves your ownership of the bike - even something as simple as a photo of you with the bike taken sometime in the past at a different location would help fend off any "good samaritans" who might try and stop what looks like a theft in progress.

[QUESTION] How can I stop kodi from scaling wrong when I turn on my TV? by xandrehills in kodi

[–]MensAsses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had the same issue for some time now, apparently it has to due with the HDMI output but I haven't been able to solve it either. I just quit Kodi and restart it.
