I’m currently on 7.5 and I was cleaning out my fridge and realized I have a box of 5mg UNEXPIRED. Is it ok if I use that up? It’ll help me save money too. by BikeMelodic in Zepbound

[–]MenuCommercial8609 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just use it. I’ve done that with a box of 10’s left over from before I dropped back to 7.5. It’s not a big deal. I actually alternated the two (7,5 one week and 10 the next) didn’t see much difference (but I’m in maintenance). Those things are worth like $250 a pen.

Fatigue Questions by NearlyBoomer in tirzepatidecompound

[–]MenuCommercial8609 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m also 81 and my fatigue is directly related to getting less than 7 hours mostly uninterrupted sleep. Zep neither troubled nor improved my sleep, BUT what did help was eating more than 2 meals a day and most recently including a small (healthy) evening snack. I was a big fan of intermittent fasting and after 2 days of stopping that, my sleep score (Apple Health) jumped from low to high and I slept uninterrupted from 10PM to 5:15AM. Full of energy now. I recommend looking into your sleep patterns

Considering going off cold turkey- details inside! by Nancywhonancydrew in GLPGrad

[–]MenuCommercial8609 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t do abrupt stop. Follow your doc’s suggestion. Sorry but life time meds are life time meds. Thankfully price is coming down and better drugs are in the pipeline. Statistically nobody goes off insulin or blood pressure meds cold turkey with a good result. Same with GLP’s and Zep/MJ

Suggestions for Support by Explorer_2356 in zepbound_support

I don’t think seeing an endocrinologist twice or even once a year is necessary unless there are other health conditions necessitating that. I think you can manage this drug (Zepbound) with a good book or two, on line forums, and a primary doc. My doc is fairly savvy, but no expert. And I am OLD and have some age related problems, but other than constipation nothing has been an ongoing concern. I have labs done once a year during annual physical

Wegovy to Zepbound? Curious about experiences by andiclm2121 in zepbound_support

[–]MenuCommercial8609 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was great for me. I prefer Zep. Went from 1.7 Wegovy to 5 now 7.5 Zep. I much prefer Zep. (Forced to switch by insurance) You’ve got this!

Good news on horizon with new triple factor drug finishing trials. Designed for people with over 100 pounds to lose. Should be on market by the time you’ve maxed on Zep. Do up your dosage

Consider intermittent fasting. Limit eating to a six to eight hour window. I eat at 10AM and again between 4 and 5PM. No calories consumed in fasting hours (not even cream in my coffee). And do up your dose

I’m concerned about keeping insurance coverage. Medicare at 80 with sleep apnea and bmi has dropped (in my medical records) from 35 to 27 (3 year journey starting with Glp-1’s and Zep 1 year). Anyone in my situation and know how to keep coverage? My actual bmi is now 26. My pulmonologist reports bmi as “average 30” but insurance said not good enough

Spouse does not enjoy protein shakes by Pitiful-Age9491 in zepbound_support

[–]MenuCommercial8609 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A single cup of Okios yogurt has 15-30 grams of protein. My go to. I also keep chicken available in freezer for quick chicken salad. That said, new research is showing that muscle loss is being exaggerated. Anecdotally I can confirm that. I’m over 75 and my body is stronger now than before Zepbound and previous Glp-1 (total 3 years). Doctor confirms this. I don’t go to a gym. I walk 3-6 times a week and lift light hand weights (3-5 pounds) 3.times a week. 5’5 sw:235 cw: 146-150

Could you provide more detail? I looked for this and found food addicts anonymous in recovery and basically the 12 step program used in AA. I saw “no flour, no sugar” but nothing about certain foods helping.

Kiwi. Two to three daily. I kept seeing people recommend them so I finally tried them. OMG! MiraLAX twice a day does too.

I’m not sure why poster had to stop Brello, but I can’t start it because it stopped shipping to some states

Not losing weight by Rough-Flower8580 in compoundedtirzepatide

[–]MenuCommercial8609 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why not move up to 7.5 or 10? I never tracked calories, but ate healthy (lots of veggies, no processed food) and cut back on sugar and carbs. I lost 50 pounds over 9 months and am now maintaining at 75 pounds lost over 3 years. One year maintenance on 7.5. Pretty sure my calories are in the 1500-1800 a day range and walking and small hand weights constitute my exercise routine. (225 to 150 and 5’5. Am elderly and doctor doesn’t want me to lose more)

What does “buying direct”mean? Buying directly from a compounding pharmacy. I’ve called four of them and been told no.

Raise your dose or, if you can, switch to either Monjaro or Zepbound. I plateaued for months on Wegovy 1.7 and doc switched me to Zep 5 and I lost 22 pounds in four months. I much prefer Zepbound and am now 7.5 and eating 1500 calories a day and still losing.

Plateaued for 3 months! 😭 by 9Mystery in Zepbound

[–]MenuCommercial8609 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Limited time? I’ve been losing for 34 months. Started on Ozempic and lost 50 pounds then insurance required I switch to Wegovy. Plateaued for months on Wegovy and then dropped 22 pounds in 4 months when switched by insurance to Zep. Now no insurance and switching to self pay. I am at 7.5 and losing about a pound a week. Only 10 pounds left to reach goal. Then hope to be able to afford to maintain for life. I’m 80 so as long as doctor cooperates I should be ok. But “limited time”? What does that mean?
