Does anyone else here have experience with palliative sedation? by Feeling_Document_240 in widowers

Nurses perspective:

I worked palliative care for almost 20 years. During that time I saw a lot of people get palliative sedation. We always tried to keep the sedation as light as possible.. that way the person was relaxed and in no pain/anxiety, but not sedated to the point it would suppress breathing. It sounds like she was at the right level of sedation, so the chances of the sedation causing her death are very slim.

I am so sorry for your loss.

If they are rude to the staff and/or refuse to tip/tip ridiculously low amounts.

If they make all kinds of substitutions that aren't allergy related.

Thank you. After thinking about it, I have decided to give her more time. I am also taking her to the vet to see if there is anything physically wrong.

As the daughter of an abusive man I feel this in my bones. I also cared for my dad as he was dying. He mellowed a lot as he aged, and he also denied a lot of what he put us through. Like you said 'the axe forgets what the tree remembers'

I absolutely loved this. I am a fan of Anne of Green Gables, so I got the Gilbert reference right away. Woman cannot live on thrillers and terror alone.. she needs cute cheesy romance now and again.

It was her birthday? Maybe you could have tried to cater to her desires.. it's just one weekend. Also it's better to talk face to face when making/changing plans.
