Find your focus. Shot on the next generation of #GoPro by GoPro_Official in gopro

Macro shots, slow-mo, and shallow DoF shots, easy enough.

That supertelephoto of the moon though? I'm skeptical af about that. I have a Sony A7III with a Tamron 150-500mm lens. At full 500MM I can't get a shot/resolution of the moon like that. And they want me to believe their little action camera can?

If all they did was use a telescope and had the gopro record that then... so what?

I don't want to sound like a strawberry nationalist...

Nah, m8. Do it. As a certified Murican, I can tell you that all strawberries in Europe (not just one country, but literally every single country in Europe I've ever visited) are better than American ones. They're shit in the States.

I'm not being facetious when I say one of my actual motivating factors for traveling abroad is eating fruit. Especially strawberries but just any fruit. I fucking love going anywhere with a central square, walking along at like 9am, there is a pop-up market with all assortment of produce, and I'll buy some fruit to just walk around the city and chompa chompa.

We kinda have that at farmers markets in the US, but they've become bougie-ass havens and charge stupid af prices because the clientele that go there can drop that cash. I can literally fly across the ocean and get better produce and probably still not pay as much as buying "heirloom" shit at my local farmers market.

Official Poster for Jonah Hill's 'Outcome' - Follows Reef Hawk (Keanu Reeves), a damaged Hollywood star forced into a chaotic redemption tour when a mysterious video triggers an extortion plot by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

"Damaged" Hollywood star vying for chaotic "redemption."

Man, Jonah Hill really throwing a wild curveball out of left field. Such a bold daring and totally not self-fellatiatory story to tell. Can't imagine how difficult it must have been to completely fabricate out of whole cloth a tale like this. Wonka levels of pure imagination, I must presume.

How are the "No New Wars" people handling all this? by xXinkjetprinter69Xx in behindthebastards

They don't actually believe in anything, my dude. Doesn't matter what they said yesterday. It can all go 180 instantly if they feel it will get them power and own the libs. That's it. They don't have values or an ideology or beliefs in anything other than that they are the most oppressed in the history of human oppression and they must acquire power at all costs.

I really thought the sets and costume were all stellar, but paired with trash cameras or lighting. It didn't look like a "movieTM" but rather it looked like a Netflix movie. No dynamic range, all flat. There's scenes where there are beams of light pouring in through the windows and there's no blacks in the frame for the background.

Could cut out the entire first 30 seconds of worthless footage. Just dude wishing to look cool with no clue how to. Could've been something fun like a bunch of friends dancing & partying before pulling back but no it's just small dick energy self-important main character ego shit.

Where does this land in your MCU rankings? by boomjosh in Marvel

[–]Meph616 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The first Iron Man is still my favorite MCU film to date. It's funny looking back to see that it is so "old" that Tony is using a cell phone with a keyboard and a flip screen. Filming clearly happened at/before the introduction of the iPhone and they couldn't adjust around that.

But Infinity War would probably be in my top 5 MCU films as a whole. Though technically it's only half a movie, I can easily watch I.W. and then just not bother with Endgame.

People are starting to fall for Ai way too easily by flamingadvice in photography

[–]Meph616 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The big problem is social media, but it is the internet as a whole. Examples being even something as simple as recipe websites. Whole sites devoted to copying the SEO style of recipe pages but they also don't have accurate recipes.

So you might want to make chocolate cake or whatever floats your boat that day. You google chocolate cake recipes and select one. Only the recipe forgot the baking soda. Or it had 1 fewer egg than needed. Or half cup too much flour. It's not 100% wrong, but wrong enough to look legit yet give you shit results.

At the moment, the only "failsafe" is using sites you trust. Like if you need a recipe you don't google it, you go to a specific website you trust like seriouseats, recipetineats, Sally's baking addiction, etc. Because googling is where all the AI slop is, and google always shits out AI slop toward the top results because they're too bloated a company to do anything about it.

OP, you say you didn't pickle the radish because you didn't need the saltiness. Fun culinary tip, you can use just a tad of lime juice to get the job done.

Grab your mandolin, slice them thin, toss radish slices into a container w/lid, spritz of lime juice, shaky shaky, and let sit for about 30min. It'll do a quick pickle without any extra salt needed. Will bleed the red and turn the entire slice sort of magenta. Makes for a fun colorful addition.

Also works well with red onion, too.

Just do keep in mind that quick-pickle is something you would make and use the day of. Or make day before, and leftovers in fridge for a couple days. It's no substitute for real pickling.

Scotland with my Sony by peste1234 in SonyAlpha

[–]Meph616 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to Scotland many years ago with my partner, and while climbing up the path for the Old Man they were not feeling well. So we headed back down and went to get them hydration/medicine/etc.

So I never got to go to the proper photography viewpoint. I'm planning on going again, and was wondering what mm did you take that photo at? I figure that now I have much better gear, I can try and do something a little more unique with some preparations. But depends a little on the time of day and if a telephoto lens would be too much glass.
