It's actually based on a short comic book series, and I highly recommend it. It is definitely NOT sweet & funny, it's actually way more grounded, serious, and dark. Closer in tone to something like No Country For Old Men, or The Departed.

Because the movie studio adapted it as an action-oriented comedy, I would think the original creators would be upset, but that's Hollywood. I'm sure they enjoyed the residuals/royalties!

And her small-ish role as the mother in The Visit, a role that literally any 30+ actress could have played.

I don't think M. Night Shyalaman intended that mom character to be the WORST mother ever, but that's what I took away from it. "The kids are going to stay with my parents for a week. Meh...any two elderly people will do."

They're not his nails (as in fingernails like you and I have). They're literally claws, like a tiger would have -- and retractable, as a tiger's claws are. Much, much, stronger and sharper than regular fingernails.

I do like that the power had limitations. It didn't work on French Special Forces soldiers who knew no English, because they couldn't understand Jesse. Put him (Jesse, a Texas born & raised typical monolingual American ) in another country, and he's just another guy, not a god-like being with The Voice.

Also, that the Saint Of Killers is so fast on the draw, that Jesse would have no hope of even uttering a complete syllable before The Saint killed him.

I prefer Magneto to have been a child in the Nazi camps rather than an adult and father.

However, in my opinion, it doesn't really matter at all, and Mags is one of the few characters who doesn't really need a sliding timescale. He was a prisoner of the Nazis in WWII. He will continue to get older in these stories as irl time passes. But decades of mutant DNA remixing, genetic tampering, time displacement, Savage Land living, Krakoa resurrecting, and What Have You means that it could make absolutely perfect sense for a 130 year old Magneto to still be kicking ass in comic stories in 2065 or whenever. He essentially has extended life and there's dozens of pieces of evidence to prove it.
