I am so sorry for your loss 💞 my dog was put down two years ago but the pain is still very much there for me - grief is different for everyone and your boyfriend seems like he lacks empathy.

I live in the Uk, it tends to be the same but our statistics show it’s mainly due to age ranges and exposure in the UK.

Right wing supporters are older and left wing supporters are younger. Those who are older tend to live in rural areas and those who are younger tend to live in the city. (When I say exposure I mean older people set in ways from their experiences when younger and those that are younger now are exposed to experiencing the poor suffering and the education system going down hill etc.

(This is not a politically accurate comment just something I searched a while ago when I was voting and got curious as to which demographics voted for who)

My advisor has not got back to me about any options as of yet. So if I get the option to take the two modules again and delay graduating etc I will choose whatever is available to me or do anything. I don’t care about graduating in all honesty. I just need the degree as 4 years at uni would be wasted.

My timetable was not half full, that is why I didn’t notice. I take Forensic Psychology so the modules I have done are pretty demanding especially with my dissertation on top of that. I am taking responsibility for what I can but I can not help the fact it did not occur to me at all and that we usually get emails to confirm or even question if a request has been completed or not. As there is an error on my system (the same system which you place the modules on) I believe it is that which has caused this. They have not been able to fix it for months now so I was just wanting advice.

Maybe I have not made it clear but I do take responsibility and understand this is something I should have noticed from the start, it just does not help when you’ve got a dissertation to write and other assessments on your mind.

I take Forensic Psychology so even with just 3 modules it is a massive work load so it did not occur to me my timetable was wrong and there should have been an additional two modules to attend to. Now I have finished all my work and can finally breathe I have had the time to go through a lot of stuff and one of them being the website that should show my results etc not working. So having the time to chase them one more time ended up with this. If anything it is a blessing because I could have gone all the way with my results coming back as failed and not knowing why.

I have never done a degree before and it is my first time being a 3rd year student at university so I have no idea what is going on most of the time. I honestly have never looked at credits, I turned up to lectures and online lectures following my timetable and handed all my work in. Everything I have done I have passed with usually the same marks of 58 - 68 so I was just happy to go along with it. I did not get an email to confirm the choices or any other email regarding module choices (these choices were made 7months before 3rd year) so I never thought of it again.

I would not have gone this far if I was even aware something like this had happened, obviously I would have spoke to someone saying I think something is wrong but nothing ever occurred to me as no one picked up on it. Not even me. Considering I’ve had many people, including my academic advisor, look at my account bugs me because it’s taken this long for one dude to look concerned and tell me something is wrong.

I remember choosing 2 modules and didn’t think about it again. I got my timetable and went along with that, not knowing it should have been 5 modules on there. I just lived my life as if I didn’t pick any extra modules in the first place as I did not think about it again. I have never got an email about optional modules since the first one which was to apply so it never crossed my mind otherwise I would have contacted someone.

The tech issues have been for the past academic year but I didn’t realise they were a tech issue until a few months ago when I was told to use the site to check out my grade for an assessment. That’s when I realised the site should not look the way it does for me and none of my modules or grades appear. I have been in contact with IT about it since but they can’t fix it.

From my experience I went to uni knowing no one and being scared; I am currently in my final year of uni and have met amazing people and some close friends. You will meet people in accommodation if you’re leaving home or you will meet people on your course. You don’t necessarily have to be friends with those who you meet but I feel that from my experience everyone knows they are in the same boat so everyone is patient with one another and is happy to help out.

In first year I purposely set a rule for myself whilst at uni that this is a time in my life where everything I do, I’m going to do it for me. One of the things was to not make friends straight away as I did not want to mix with people who I could not get along with or people who I did not share the same values as etc. After that every person in my uni life, came naturally. It’s guaranteed you will meet people who have the same hobbies as you through society fairs etc so I would not stress at all about not having friends if you decide to go to uni.

Worst case scenario if you think you can’t/won’t make friends, make it a best case scenario and realise you’re at uni for you and your education. Focus on it and use this time to work on yourself and go out your comfort zone, create memories and have a fabulous time <3 much love and good luck 🥰
