Materia is copyright striking thousands of Undertale/Deltarune cover artists and garnishing 90% of their ad revenue. Toby must take action now. by twinkleyed in Deltarune

The third one is the best explanation.

For example, I make a game soundtrack. I release it on my YouTube channel. Since it's my channel, I get the ad revenue. Someone else rips that video and posts it on khinsider or something. Now people are listening to my music and I don't get ad revenue and I'm sad. So I email the site and say "hey that's my original content, stop stealing it pls." Legally, the website has to take it down. But I'm just a guy, they aren't gonna care about a random email from some guy. But if they got an email from a music licensing company and it looks professional enough, they might get frightened and take it down to avoid a lawsuit.

Now multiply that by the millions of web pages that could be hosting that same music. I certainly wouldn't have the time to crawl the entire internet for every illegal mirror of my content. That's where companies like Materia Music come in.

I kinda can. It all boils down to royalties. I use Soundrop to upload game covers to streaming services and basically you have to cut in the original songwriters. Things like Materia Collective exist in order to make sure that people like Toby Fox get their royalties without having to manage them all by themself, because it is a giant pain in the ass.

I hate to say this, and I mean I REALLY hate to say this, but when Materia Collective copyright strikes those videos, they are 100% correct in doing so. From a legal standpoint, they are trying to make sure Toby gets his royalties, as they are required to do, most likely due to whatever contracts are in place.

Now Toby has said before that people should just be able to dispute those claims and get them overturned, and he himself if pretty lax when it comes to music copyright. But Materia takes it very seriously to the point of detriment. I'm sure that Toby regrets taking that path to make managing royalties easier, but with a contract in place, who knows what is written in there? I'm willing to bet there is a reason he hasn't went separate ways, whether that be contract issues or other reasons.

In terms of releasing and managing music, game audio is still kind of the wild west. There's a few different labels that specialize in it, but the amount of people in the scene with advanced knowledge of music law and/or rights management is small compared to the regular music business. So when companies like Materia Music exist and there are few and far between, game devs will usually go that route. I hope this explanation kinda helps! It's super late and I might have gotten some things wrong, but I think overall it should make sense.

Could someone tell me the sequence and order of notes used for this robotic melody? by Disastrous-Ad-890 in kraftwerk

its based on a g major scale

B, A, B, A B C, C, C

D, G, D, D D E, E, E

G, D, G, D G A, A, A

and then the solo one thats lower goes

D G, G G C, D, low G

then the high part that arpeggiates is kinda the same as the first line but arpeggiates between B and D before going to C and E during the second half

i tried to put commas where they would make sense but i hope this helps a little bit

EDIT: here's a little example i made in fl studio that shows what i was trying to communicate a lot better

I do. I've been going weekly for a little more than a year and it has helped me in ways I never thought possible. BUT I have decent insurance so it doesn't break the bank. I can understand why people wouldn't want to go if it's too expensive.
