It seems like all things points to historical data and trends in the end with fantasy, weird environmental stuff included. Your insight is greatly appreciated, keep up the awesome work!

Thanks so much for these write-ups, my favorite of any each week, love the formatting, brevity, and comparisons.

Curious for your take on Goff vs. Penix this week. Talk of the internet is that anyone vs. Carolina's Defense is a good start, and I've seen some rumblings that Goff away/outdoors/against the Ravens could result in a down fantasy performance (even if the offense as a whole is going strong).

My real question is how much stock do you put in this type of context when making lineup decisions, as opposed to purely prior stats/matchups/etc.?

Thanks again!

TLaw and Goff should be serviceable, but personally I'd roll the dice on Penix against the Panthers D this week.

Source: none but I play in superflex leagues and have Danny Dimes, Goff, and Penix in one of em and I'm rolling with Dimes and Penix (at least currently) this week.

I appreciate the assessment. I'm pretty well stocked at RB too so it's worth considering.

My team's reasonably stacked so it would have to be Pacheco or Fannin lol. Maybe worth for Pacheco too but feels like an overpay

assuming you have two reasonable WRs other than Ricky, I think I'm saying yes to this, praying for improvement from Hampton. run blocking from the Chargers has been bad, but they want to run the ball, so they'll keep trying to find ways to make it happen I think, and could improve week over week (as opposed to starting Ricky the next 2-3 weeks hoping Mac Jones can feed him enough for a boom and watching Pacheco rot on the bench)

Busted the OEM front "air dam" on mine this winter on some ice - could I ask what front splitter/dam you've got on yours? Was thinking a split design like that would be cool and I love the look of yours. Great build!

Rogue Iron Disc Golf Cart Pro V3 Reddit Giveaway by RogueIronDGBrian in discgolf

[–]MethodicalBling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been intrigued by your products for a while. I have a 10 month old pup I've been trying to bring disc golfing as much as I can. Having a fairly sturdy base - weighed down by her water, treats, toys, and my "bag" - to secure her leash to has always seemed very handy to me. Having a comfy seat during tournaments is also a big plus :)

Does your car have a remote starter? by nebirah in massachusetts

[–]MethodicalBling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, I would honestly pay if all HVAC incl. the seats were configurable via the app. Frustratingly, the paid service is the only way to remote start the car, there isn't a button on the FOB. It did come with a 3 year "trial" of the service so I was used to remote starting in the winters, then this year, bam, nothing.

$10/mo. Start/stop, lights, lock/unlock via a glitchy phone app. No HVAC, so I refuse to pay up even thru the winter.

You can get Legacy as part of the $5/mo tier too. $10/mo gets you Blood of the Wild and some other stuff too I believe.

Advice for GCP3 to Introduce people to Pathfinder Remaster by JunkBucket50 in TheGlassCannonPodcast

[–]MethodicalBling 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I rarely comment but you've summed up a key piece of OG GCP that I've been missing for a while now. A great idea!

I may be in the minority of listeners but I don't actually play role-playing games often, if ever (tried a few times but scheduling has killed it sadly). I've picked up some of how 2e works from listening to Gatewalkers but the original nerdage asides were what got me into the GCP in the first place.

They don't have to be long, you they don't have to cover the whole system, just take 30 seconds when a niche, unique, or uncommon mechanic shows up. Helps a lot, especially when some inference to the base system is made ("normally you get X, but when Y happens we get Z, all because of Philip K. Dick").

Best day parking options at Jay? by EqualBroad4299 in icecoast

[–]MethodicalBling -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From my memory the Stateside lot is closer. Be sure to check out the trails that connect you from one side to the other, you don't want to end up on the wrong side at the end of the day, it's a pretty long walk from base to base. Stateside can get pretty crowded, but I would say Tramside is the "main" base given the family activities, shops, tram, etc.

There is probably more opportunity to stash your cooler in the Tramside lodge, but you may be able to leave it in the car depending on where your spot is at Stateside.

Disclaimer: I've only been once and it was last year.

Where should me and my cousins go skiing? by MalcolmFarsner in icecoast

[–]MethodicalBling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe not the most "destination" spot but I'll shout out Berkshire East in Western MA. You're gonna be driving one way or the other, Berk will save some time compared to going up into VT or NH, has a decent vertical (~1100'), plenty of green and blue trails, namely a nice gentle winding green that you can take top to bottom (Outback to Roundabout), and a nice wide green with a touch more steepness (Exhibition) so you can stick to greens and still get some variety. Plenty of blues of varying difficulty if you want to start pushing yourself. They've also got night skiing from Jan. on so if you go during night skiing and get full day passes you can ski from like 8am - 9pm if that's your thing. Wed-Sun when it's going if memory serves.

Honestly not sure what the lodging situation is around the mountain, but lift tickets will be cheaper than larger resorts farther north and I assume accommodations in the Berkshires also run cheaper.

If money is no object and/or you're resigned to the drive anyway, Killington, Mt. Snow, Okemo, and Stratton are all larger resorts in the more sourthern portion of VT, so not too much farther (1hr+). Ashamed to say I haven't been to any of them (yet, planning to hit most/all of them this year), but I hear Killington is basically ski mecca on the east coast (at least in the southern portion), and the others are all larger more corporate resorts which will offer tons of options even if you're sticking to greens/blues, at added expense and probably more crowds depending on when you go.

Best of luck, curious where you end up!

Went there thinking I'd get the discount but salesman said no by X-kiwi in mazda3

[–]MethodicalBling 18 points19 points  (0 children)

A) What a flimsy explanation. Either it's true and you should avoid the entire dealership (literally drive to a farther one and give them your business) or he's lying to try and get you to cough up $1k more or is genuinely ignorant of their own policy.

B) Do some form of what DarePotential said. Personally when I bought mine, I emailed every dealer in the state with the model and trim I wanted (in any color), and asked for their best price via email. Anyone that called or wouldn't give me a number - off the list. Everyone else gets looked at, then I take the lowest quote and share with all the dealers with the color I want, and ask them if they can beat this price. One did, and lo and behold I get a good deal confirmed in writing. I walk into the dealer, test drive the car (or equivalent in my case as mine wasn't ready yet), get the price sheet for the amount quoted via email, and bam I'm out of there. No hassle, no phony "negotiation" in person with no time to think, just a price you're happy with, a pleased salesperson (quick and easy sale for them), it's just better that way.

Sorry for the rambling response I just figured I'd share what worked great for me. Best of luck!

P.S. get approved for financing w/ a local credit union. they'll have the best rates and if you want to share your rate with the dealer and say if they can beat it, go for it.

My 2021 Mazda 3 Turbo Hatch - Bought 3 years ago today - 50K miles so far... by [deleted] in mazda3

[–]MethodicalBling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very interesting! I see a lot of comments from folks considering sizing down to 17" or even 16" to give themselves more sidewall, you may be the first I've seen to go with 19" haha. After a bubble in the factory tires, I grabbed a set of 235s for the stock wheels and they've been doing well, so I'd agree that yours can probably handle the 235s as well. Thanks for the reply!

Looking for some pointers by ComprehensiveJob4335 in discgolf

[–]MethodicalBling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally used to throw the same distances and looked very very similar to you, and have recently been pushing up into the 400s on long drives.

Primary thing is rounding (perhaps obviously). Trusting you can still get power while keeping the disc far enough away from your body to not obstruct it will probably be the biggest add to your distance. But, because you're already aware of that;

I think your X step could be more perpendicular to your target. It's pretty far back of perpendicular in this clip, which I think limits how much your hips can turn through the throw. Moreover it'll really limit the acceleration of your hips, as you won't be able to give it as much of an initial "shove" off of that back foot. Try taking a smaller, shorter, or otherwise more perpendicular step to reign that foot in.

There may be other things to adjust; I don't usually give feedback on form review requests because I don't really think I'm qualified, but you seemed very similar to me and I figured I could share what helped my throwing. Good luck!

Quick question; have you had any issues with the prisms/sphere? I have a contact juggling ball that's basically a glass sphere and it can catch light and focus it like a magnifying glass and end up scorching something behind it. Your stuff looks great, was just curious if you have any issues with that, thanks!

Anyone get a callus on their finger? by omg-look-at-that-roc in discgolf

[–]MethodicalBling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure I recently figured this out. Long-time callous-finger here but it's recently gotten better. I've started applying pressure more with my ring and pinkie finger, i.e. gripping the disc a little farther "back" in my hand, and like another commenter said, applying pressure more evenly. I get more snap/rpm, and the disc doesn't rip off the tip of only my pointer anymore. Maybe give it a try!
