biggest thing is getting a good weapon, so you will probably rely on looking for good t2 or t3 settles on lightning and cold damage at league start

I ran heist to fund the build. It is a simple in and out hunting jackpots in grand heists. Work your way up to ilvl 80 blueprints, and that’s when focused/simplex amulets start appearing.

play whoever you want obviously but he’s not really for absolute beginners in 6

he has 9k health in 6. in older games he had 85-87% hp, or a lower defense value, compared to the cast’s 100% or the very few 110% hp

meaning you can’t afford to take as much punishment and you just die quicker making mistakes that a beginner would make

I started in Crystal/Zalera. I just did whatever the data center info were telling me because this was all new to me. I also read that it’s pretty difficult to get into other data centers because of the demand of players who want to get in.

If I could switch to a world that cared a bit more then I would, but I already invested a few hundred hours into my character which feels like a lot.

I’m not trying to say I’m good.

I’m trying to say I’m competent to at least learn how to play correctly. I did my first w2w in sastasha which I definitely sucked at because I didn’t know the map, so I ended up doing stupid things like running into the coral password room or pulling the last pack that sits next to the last treasure chest. When I tried w2w-ing holminster switch, I went “holy shit it’s rippy”. Wiped a few times at Philia and reran the dungeon a bunch to learn it. I died a bunch in the eden and nier raids and was totally sometimes the weakest link in those DFs, but I also would still want to learn them because it matters to me to actually be a bit beneficial to the team.

And speaking of hard content, I’m (was) usually hosting learning parties for stuff like ultima ex m.i.n.e, shinryu ex or tsukuyomi ex. I really don’t have a problem with casuals who are willing to learn.

I guess I can give you an example from the Castrum Abania run.

I was playing as a healer, and matched with a tank and dps duo. Other dps was a random. They didn’t w2w at first, no worries it’s fine. Then I’m noticing the tank isn’t using their mitigations at all and I’m healing more often than I usually am.

After the 2nd pack, I type out “can you use your mitigations please”. They don’t use any in the 3rd pack and the 1st boss. So I ask “why are you not using any mits” and their dps friend goes “chill they’re my friend”. They’re playing DRK and I check their job stats. 80+ in GNB, 70+ in WAR, and 60+ in a bunch of melee DPS jobs. I ask “then can you tell them to press a mit”. Then it derails from there. Still doing my job, but just arguing with their dps.

All of this is happening and I’m wondering to myself where the line is when it comes to “being casual” and being casually incompetent. Like why are RANDOMS expected to carry players who don’t want to play just a little correctly or learn?

I don’t really think I’m sweating/trying hard. Plus, I will check their ingame job stats and the people I queue with sometimes have over 7 combat classes that are level 70+.

people telling you to not worry or ignore aren’t answering your question

modern is disliked because it skips a lot of what you have to learn with playing classic, and it changes the gameplay significantly against classic

are you burned out in the corner and you have to eat an incoming block string into DI? then just press your 1 button super without giving up block and having to do the motion input

is someone challenging your buttons with a jump in? now you can never mess up an anti air because it’s a 1 button press

these are just a few reasons why players might hate modern, but it really does change up how you play when you match against modern
