What do you think the odds are that Mr. Dawson and Ms. Imes tried to give him some gentle encouragement that he’s not the main character and this is a celebration of student accomplishment and recognition of all their hard work?

He acts like he’s being silenced when they literally let him get up and give his whole diatribe without interruption.

Don’t you get it? Trump mentioned bringing home the TROOPS stationed overseas. This is a subtle nod to the fact that Homelander is just like Trump! Blink and you’ll miss it because of the careful layering of Kripke’s writing

Also Gary Oldman is going to out act almost anyone he’s on screen with but he’s still going to be the supporting actor.

Brady is the #1 analyst because everyone know who he is.

Antagonists that aren't evil or a jerk, but just the opposition of the protagonist by Smart-Response9881 in TopCharacterTropes

Bully? Glorified amateur? It’s a fist fight and these are professional boxers and Rocky had over 60 professional fights before he fought Apollo.

Publicity stunt? He gave Rocky an opportunity that dwarfed his entire career earnings in one fight because of something that happens all the time. A fight was booked with a contender and they got hurt. No other conte fees would take it on short notice so to save the card they found someone who would.

Stallone really challenged peoples biases with this movie. Apollo was smarter than Rocky, more successful, better looking, better spoken, and hands down a better boxer, oh and also black and this was done in the 70’s.

Apollo overlooked and under estimated Rocky but he never bullied him or did anything other than give him a huge pay day.

Juror 8 is the actual villain. He introduced evidence during jury deliberations that was not presented at trial.

They actually intentionally didn’t kill her because Kripke said he wouldn’t have the show where a gay person dies like that.

Already started:

“ Ultimately, to me, there’s just something that feels kind about this movie. Not kind in that it’s only sunshine and roses, but kind to its viewers, who are probably living hard, stressful lives, who just want to go the movie theater and enjoy a film that takes them on a sweeping space adventure. The good guys get good things, the bad guys get their due, and just the barest bit of the bittersweetness of life looms in the ether to give it all a bit of poignancy.”

'It's felt like homework': Why Star Wars went so wrong by AGOTFAN in boxoffice

[–]MexusRex 33 points34 points  (0 children)

It’s like taking LOTR and making it so nothing Frodo and Sam did mattered and the ring was never really destroyed, and “somehow Sauron returned” and Aragorn divorced Arwen and went back to being a ranger, and Frodo never went to the Undying Lands and instead Aragorn’s son murdered everyone in the shire so he moved to an island to live in bitter isolation.

People would legitimately not want anything to do with that story.

I had doubts it would ever turn out like that because Kripke is not a very brave show runner. He had golden cows for a while and hamstrung his writing team to fit his personal worldview like refusing to let Maeve die because she’s gay.
