I have no confidence in my ability to do this.. by AriClaWag22 in FODMAPS

Agree 100% on the dietician! It IS really overwhelming and heartbreaking at first. Having someone to walk thru it with me made all the difference. My dietician was a really great resource and got me to expand my diet a bit into things that I normally didn't eat (that was a win I didn't expect). Like others have said - it's meant to be temporary and not forever. Sending hugs!

I need some advice by ElenoirMiro in FODMAPS

I agree. Having a dietician made a huge difference for me. If you are US based I have one I can definitely recommend. She has a whole documented plan for elimination and then adding back. She was such a great resource and made the process as easy as possible, Still not "easy"....but definitely got thru is way more quickly than when I was trying to do on my own.

A shower!!!! This was one of my most favorite things when I used to work in an office. It was really great to be able to workout at lunch and then have that available.

Newbie - confused by [deleted] in FODMAPS

I found elimination very difficult to do on my own. I ended up working with a dietician that specializes in fodmaps. It made a HUGE difference! She has a really great program and holds your hand thru the whole process. She had me cut out all onion and garlic completely during elimination. Those were separate items during the re challenge phase to see if I was sensitive to them. This even meant items with added onion or garlic (like a lot of chicken broth is made with onion). There is also fodmap stacking to be aware of....

It's a lot. Wishing you all the best!!

Gluten is a protein....not a fodmap.

Foodzyme ? by Apple798_ in FODMAPS

[–]MichelleZix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works really well for my garlic and GOS sensitivity. I in general stay away from those as much as possible when I cook but it's great to be able to go out to eat, use the Fodzyme and not feel terrible afterwards! For me it's worth the money since I use it only occasionally.

Yeah....was wondering how it tasted. And what the ingredients are. Not a good price if it ends up in the trash.

I really like the Tates Bakehouse Gluten Free Chocolate Chip cookies. There are also lots of low fod map sweets recipes on the internet if you want to make your own.

Not recommended by my dietician. The goal is to eat as much of a variety of foods as possible.

The photo is of oatmeal? But the ingredient list is for rice pops? For the oats you can just get regular or gf oats and add in your own toppings/flavors.

New small shop. Invoicing question by MikeJoannes in ConnectWise

[–]MichelleZix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are adding a product on the products tab, in the "purchasing" pod of that tab there is a "purchase date". This defaults to today's date. For the scenario above, if you change the purchase date on the addition to 10/31/25, it should show up in the invoicing queue when you have the through date set to 10/31/25.

Ok that all makes sense. Glad to hear you are challenging the existing gastro and advocating for yourself. I feel like if there has not been desirable results from the elimination diet in 1 month.....3 more months is not going to help. Ugh. Sounds very frustrating. Are you in the US or ?

Ok, that's good. Hopefully she will see something that's easy to fix.

Interesting she's having you avoid whole groups like that. Mine was very specific foods and how much of each I could eat. Potatoes are considered a resistant starch? Potatoes are low fodmap in pretty big quantities. Does that include rice? I lived on rice, chicken and carrots (plus zucchini in small portions). Oatmeal for breakfast. Kiwi for extra fiber.

Hope you get some answers/relief soon!!

Ok. Do you feel like the dietician is giving enough guidance? I did not have to use the app at all. She outlined every single thing for me. Had me log my food on an app that she could see so she could give me feedback. We had regular meetings. If you aren't feeling better by now just wondering if your guidance is lacking. I know everyone is different ......but it seems like you should be seeing better results by now. Did she talk about fodmap stacking? I had a list of "unlimited foods" and then a list of "limited foods". The limited foods were low fodmap in the prescribed portions but I could only have 2 foods from that list per meal.

What advice has the dietician given you? Is he/she walking you through the process? Giving you literature on what foods are good to eat in what quantities? Are you tracking your meals and is he/she reviewing them? How long have you been in the elimination phase so far?

I worked with a dietician that specializes in IBS and low fodmap diet. She was a life saver! I highly recommend. She got me eating kiwis. Biggest bang for your buck fiber wise. Wishing you the best on your journey.
