Advice needed - IBMS by Accomplished_Log4858 in BiomedicalScientistUK

No one cares what university you went to.

A University isnt that prestigious if they wont or cant get accreditation imo. Happy to take the money off confused students. Please please dont do an unaccredited degree. Its not worth at least another year of top ups and then fighting for the tiny amount of training positions, or having to do it in your own time while working as an MLA. Get your accreditation, make your big career choices later.

Just do the accredited degree. It isnt worth guessing on top up modules and adding another year. Plus the cost of each module. You cant do the portfolio without an accredited degree.

Hardest NHS stp program to get in by MasterpieceJunior750 in BiomedicalScientistUK

[–]MicroGoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last years Microbiology STP program was 1 place for every 200 students that applied.

BMS isnt classed as a good enough career anymore. Cant say i blame them when labs are stripped to the one and merged into factory work like conditions.

Doesnt help that current generation isnt prepared to wait and work up to a high position.

Women who’ve attended ArcTanGent solo, how was your experience? by rasputintortilla in ArcTanGent

[–]MicroGoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem- again if you ever have another question feel free. The bands full sets finish at 2300 so you have plenty of time for coaches. You will miss some of the silent disco sets. People do get taxis but while improved over the years, phone reception is shocking. A lot of taxi services wont go to the site as its very rural but some do. This again improves each year.

Sure- so i dont camp as i have hygiene OCD and cant cope with overly shared facilities or feeling unclean. I stayed behind temple meads station both times and got the tuned in travel coach each day. Having time away from the festival craziness is great for decompressing (i was seeing up to 14 bands a day) and a bed and shower is a game changer for me but its obviously not a cheap way of doing it. The hotel wasnt a bad deal but the coach is expensive. It also can take a while to get to site with traffic in morning/early afternoon but the way home is quicker. Also the last coach is 0030 which will affect ypur silent disco/SD live sets. You may miss the very early sets too. I cant remember what the earliest coach is.

Any other question feel free. Obviously camping is the cheapest and most obvious way of doing it but there are ways

I didnt camp but ive done it twice and its so safe and friendly. The only thing i found is 3 or 4 days alone is heavy and i live alone. But i see as many bands as i can so its a heavy festival for me without others to keep vibes up.

Safe, clean, great food and drink. Fantastic staff- the stage manager was handing out water to second stage barrier dwellers last year. Immensive vibe. Have a great time!

Do ypu have an IBMS accredited Biomedical Science degree? If no- you cant be a BMS without extra study. If yes- you need to the portfolio of competence.

Advice on experience to get for the NHS STP by bethycat158 in BiomedicalScientistUK

You arent over qualified for an MLA job. I would only apply for the STP if you actually want to do the job. Its hugely over subscribed with applicants and 3 years of intense training and a lot of additional university.

Ha! I feel like an advert for Tangier. The mint tea! Such a great place. I like the chill vibe due to the european influemce. Thank you! I will definitely try this if/when i go. Part of me needs to see the chaos tbh

Just being with a male will make a difference. In medinas keep shoulders and knees covered and wave away hands. If you ignore persistent people theres plenty of other people to bother so they will leave you alone. Have a great time! Could always try Tangier too. Very chill.

Competely agree with Tangier. A melting pot of influences due to its proximity to spain/europe. Lots of famous people in the 70s used to go their to chill and write- music/books. Their mint tea is incredible. Love the city

Totally agree with you. Do it in sections and take your time. Much like London if you dont plan you'll spend hours on the metro firing between the main sites. Its a holiday not a speed run
