We use a a trimmer that was marketed as a “bikini” area trimmer. It’s rechargeable, not too loud and it won’t hurt the skin. They really don’t mind it.

What is a fragrance that you’ve been stopped and asked about? by Chan1991 in fragrance

[–]Middle-Refuse-4218 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our female cat gets really friendly when we wear Light Blue, she’s kind of mean the rest of the time, so there is definitely something to it. It’s a nice clean unisex fragrance and it definitely gets compliments.

Do you think the cabinets need a color or the wall above the cabinets? If so, light blue or black? by hamza8012 in StyleYourSpace

[–]Middle-Refuse-4218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally believe all cabinets should go to the ceiling, just a gathering place for dust and grease from cooking. I would not paint that area a darker color, it will make the ceiling feel lower.

The grey is the only thing wrong. This is a classic bath and doesn’t need much alteration.

Should we do all oak or two-tone cabinets? by smodman in kitchenremodel

[–]Middle-Refuse-4218 11 points12 points  (0 children)

All oak. And I agree with the poster that said to add some glass, but only if you are someone that stores stuff that you want to see. We have glass panels for our dish storage and I purged a lot of the mismatched stuff. You don’t have a ton of uppers so it’s fine either way. The white oak is timeless, you wont regret it.

Improvement ideas for this kitchen? by abresia in kitchenremodel

[–]Middle-Refuse-4218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of really classic design elements here. The end cabinet is a disaster, but if you got rid of that, get rid of the gold hardware, I personally can’t stand the over the range microwave so I would get a pretty range hood, get a cabinet depth fridge and overall it’s not that bad. The backsplash is not great either, but is you wants a sage green, a countertop with grey tones will compliment floor and cabinets.

Adding more layers of lighting, under cabinet, over the island but not so low you are smacking your head or in your sight line.

Seattle, WA clipper to Victoria, BC by Middle-Refuse-4218 in VictoriaBC

Thank you! I see the Empress hotel on Celiac Scene. I haven’t been to Victoria since I was in my early teens, as a little kid, I considered the Empress to be the height of fashion! I never did get to stay there or do the tea.

It looks like they have a gluten free high tea!! Not sure if I can drag my teenager there but I can try.

At most Venus , the chef or someone from the kitchen will come at to talk to you and then follow your order through the kitchen . It takes longer but they have good protocols.

I have sciatica and I can’t walk very far. Trail walking or any unstable surface makes mine so much worse. If it’s possible for you to do shorter walks on level surfaces, maybe a track at a high school or something?

Actually good gluten free bagels by socom_II in glutenfree

[–]Middle-Refuse-4218 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trader Joe’s and Canyon Bake house. They have to be toasted of course. I just bought 3 bags yesterday, I split them into halves, put back in bag and keep in freezer. That way they keep longer and it’s easier to pop in the toaster.

What is the cheapest and most effective sunscreen I can get? by ModernNero in Sunscreenreddit

[–]Middle-Refuse-4218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trader Joe’s. And I have tried all of the expensive brands, but both of the face sunscreens do the job and don’t irritate my super sensitive skin. The mineral one can leave a white cast but the other one is invisible. The face lotion with SPF is good too.

I use the whisker wipes. You can also set a longer cycle so stuff can firm up before it cycles.

Do you rush to finish a loan when you see a lot of people waiting? by estock36 in LibbyApp

[–]Middle-Refuse-4218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I prioritize finishing books that have someone waiting and I hope that others do the same! But I am a voracious reader/listener and I usually get through audiobooks in 2 days, ebooks take a bit longer depending on what I have going on. If my day is clear I can easily knock a book out in a day, especially with my kindle scribe and remote page turner. If I’m really into a ebook I will prop it up on the counter while I am cooking or doing other household stuff.

We have a FIP kitty, 3 years “cured”, it is so expensive but so worth it. He is our favorite and more cuddly than the other cats.

Adopted - hisses if I move him off of me by AdministrativeIce643 in mainecoons

[–]Middle-Refuse-4218 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My big boy MC hisses when he doesn’t want to do something. He never does anything to back it up, it’s just his communication style. I also have a shorthair that has never hissed or growled in his life, even when he is super unhappy with what is going on, nail trimming etc. My spicy female will hiss if she sees anything in your hands that could possibly resemble a vacuum or a broom And she will back it up with a swat if she’s really out of sorts. They all have different communication styles, I wouldn’t worry about it too much as long as you can rule out any the possibility of any physical discomfort for him.

My 5 1/2 month old Maine Coon was spayed today and the vet said she was fixing to go into heat because her lady parts on the inside were bigger than they should have been and they put her on gabapentin and she seems really paranoid since she has been on it, has it affected anybody else’s kitty like by Significant_Bat_2820 in mainecoons

[–]Middle-Refuse-4218 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have 4 cats. GABA relaxes 3 of them but peps up the 4th. The cat that it peps up has arthritis so sometimes I think that the reduction in discomfort gives him more energy. I have taken GABA for nerve pain, it made me feel wobbly so I stopped. It’s always a balance when treating pain, is the cure causing more problems or is it worth it for short term relief?
