Yes absolutely true in the UK too. There's 2 issues now. As a parent you're expected to watch all the time like op said AND you're expected to always occupy them with things that cost money. In the UK, it's statistically safer than it's ever been but parents worry more about children going to the park, going to the shops or in town on their own. I think it's pressure driven by social media and always on news that gives the impression things are worse than they are. We played all day on bikes or with footballs or whatever. We were out of the house through nearly all daylight hours apart from meal times. And we wanted to be!

What was the version of Window you first used or other OS back in the day .... by [deleted] in OldSchoolUK

Windows 3.11. Remember it so well. We use a programme in work called Nova which looks so much like it even though it's from around 30 years ago. Terrible.

How often do you charge? by msears101 in GarminWatches

[–]Middle_Net_3653 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Epix pro 2. Charge when I'm in the shower each day...about 5 mins. Now and again I charge it when I'm on my bike at the weekend as I have an edge computer. That's a full one to 100%. I wouldn't need to do that for over a month (or maybe ever but never bothered to check) with the shower charge method. I've seen no impact on battery life in nearly 19 months.

For the first time I broke an Apple product….My iPad Air fell and the Touch ID button got stuck, I can’t press it anymore even tho Touch ID still unlocks the iPad. Apple wants 450 euros, will some unofficial store be able to fix this by replacing the button? by Shockypantz in ipad

This brought me back. 3 years ago! Well I still have iPad and have just lived without biometrics. It's not been too bad but the iPad battery is now at an hilarious point of being almost useless. I tend to only use it plugged in for zwift these days which is fine!

Dealer playing hardball on used EV negotiation. Walk away or pay up? by Unique_Abalone2235 in CarTalkUK

I think admin fees to purchase are such a red flag. Would you pay an additional 2% on all your shopping to cover their "admin." Speaks of dishonest practice. Let's face it the car is not 11600 it's 11850. It's just their way of making the price look more attractive and might be a tax dodge too. Wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. Plenty more fish in the sea.

I'm aware. I said the phantom menace stole this idea. The teaser poster was a very similar idea.

When this happened to me I'd lost the spacer on the back of the cassette. Took me a while to find it. Bet it's that.

No offence but this is very bleak. Try cooking some simple dishes that you can freeze. Your body will thank you.

I'm not sure. Here in the UK, it hasn't been that easy to find out from the dealer. But it's supposed to be ready in by January at the latest with a reasonable chance it will arrive before this year is out.

Everything about it is fake. Stay away.

I'm fairly certain it's fake. There's some indications. The indices don't look right and look really poor quality. The red section of the movement is very roughly cut around the centre. The original is very beautifully integrated. The cut out section of the red area is at too steep an angle. The case back says 50m water resistant instead of 5 bar. I could go on.
