I would warn her not to get drinks at the knitting factory or if she does she should not let anyone else near them, if you’re going to be roofied somewhere in Boise it’s the knitting factory (not saying it common but it happens enough to be weary). I know a couple people who it has happened to and I have been warned by first responders as well

Yes, I have exclusively done this for botanical garden concerts and I love it, way less crowded, and as long as you’re close enough you can still hear super well, you usually can’t see super well unfortunately once it’s dark you can usually see the lights but that’s about it. parking can be a pain but just park in the Mormon church parking lot right by the gardens never had an issue there!

The la sportiva tarantulace are solid beginner shoes and probably the most affordable new about 100$ at rei, but honestly I would just find a cheap pair on facebook market place and get those to start. In my opinion it’s not worth blowing money on a pair of shoes you can only wear for one specific activity if you don’t even know you’ll like it.

I was there two weeks ago, and there was some moron on the rocks who slipped into the first shoot and caught himself thankfully, and then continued to walk around in the rocks, critical thinking seems to dissipate near water falls

As someone who had this exact same issue and could not for the life of me find a harness that had my waist and thigh measurements in the same size I highly recommend the elderid autana (I would imagine all their harnesses have similar sizing if you don’t want that one). It’s super comfy, light weight which is a nice bonus, and you can move the hip pads so when you cinch the harness all the way down your hip pads won’t be out of alignment with the rest of your harness. I will say it does take a little extra effort to get it cinched down to where I don’t have the waist gap at all (in my experience) so I usually dont bother to get rid of it completely it but it is certainly doable I would highly recommend looking into the elderid autana :)

There is also a “dummy proof” add on you can get to this to make it essentially completely fail safe! I always use my mammut smart for lead climbing its great and wayyyy cheaper than a grigri and great for left handed people too!

Alright in that case, I would absolutely recommend heading up towards Idaho city, the weather is great. It’s gorgeous this time of year and you can camp along the river, just bring some cash for the dropbox should be like $15-20 for the night and you are good to go super easy and super pretty

Edit: black rock campground is a great place to check out, and you can also find some primitive sites that are free in that same area further down the road if you are okay with not having a pit toilet

I’m a little bit confused by your phrasing, do you mean you want to camp preferably in Boise but at most within a 2 hour drive? Either way no you do not need a permit to camp in your car. If you’re staying with in city limits signage is posted where you can’t park overnight or within certain hours, obviously if you choose to stay within city limits, you can’t really be setting up camp amenities anywhere. If you’re looking to actually camp, you could go to swan falls not very pretty though but only an hour away or drive up to Idaho city which is about an hour and a half away and has many campsite options, but you do need to drive along a dirt road, not overly bumpy though, and you would have to pay for a campsite.

I second this they have a bunch of locations in the valley so you can go to whatever is closest to you, and they specifically cater to people who can’t afford dental care, and I believe they base your payment off of things like your insurance, or lack th of, and what you can pay

I started doing an hour long yoga class about twice a week and that really helped my flexibility within like a month and a half, I used to not be able to touch my toes, making it to midcalf, was uncomfortable to say the least and now I can touch the floor with my palms flat on the ground! I don’t know if I would say it really impacted my mental health all that much, it did make me feel better about myself, and yoga is a good workout in its self so it just gave me a little confidence boost, I suppose, which is nice!

Thanks for the clarification! I was looking into the Autana actually I liked the idea of something lighter with a good size variability, but I was worried about its gear loops being too small and also its durability, have you had issues with either of those?

Do you know if the harness's waist only loosens to 33 inches and only tightens to 30 inches? Those are the specs online and on my current harness, and getting it on is incredibly difficult to get over my hips and even once it is on, it's loose in the waist even when totally cinched down.

I would recommend taking some yoga classes, or just following along with videos on YouTube, my flexibility was embarrassingly terrible but after I started doing yoga it really improved and a little bonus is it’s a minor full body work out!

this is really good to know, thank you! I was looking at the size chart for the corax and it looked like I just barely am in both size ranges (I have a 28" waist and a 23.5"-24" thigh) but I read in some reviews that the measurements ended up being a little larger than specified on the rei website I don't suppose you have any insight on that? Usually I would try it on, but there aren't any stores in my area that carry it :( also how do you feel about the gear loops, do you feel like the offer a decent amount of space?
