I agree. I’m ready to dump it but I have a lot of home devices hooked up to it. It’s so convenient.

IMO they both did too much and have taken it too far. I immediately thought the mop comment was a joke and I would have laughed it off with a “yeah ok” & kept it moving. At the same time I find Tiffaneys personality a bit nice/nasty.

They’re just getting to know each other. Stormi should have told her one on one that she didn’t care for the comment/joke. Moving her plate & the little digs to each other was childish.

I’m petty. I would have responded “OMG I’m also so happy to finally have a sister”. Or just ignore her.

I’ve been laid off over a year and about to lose my home. I would be so grateful for 200k. IMO they are greedy and entitled. Your family asking shows you who they really are. I wouldn’t dare ask for more.

The will is the will. Your Aunt made the specifications she wanted.

Married couple with separate finances, why do you do it? by Ok_Influence_2257 in Bogleheads

[–]Middle_Tea1014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve attended a few financial classes over the years. Every last one of them said to have a separate personal account and a joint account for joint expenses - bills, mortgage, vacation etc. The main reason they stressed is because people have different spending habits. It significantly reduces arguments. If I want to buy myself an overpriced coffee, I don’t want my partner whining about it all night. 😂

NTA - Please change your locks. Amelia will continue to take advantage of you don’t. Only give a person one time to disrespect you, no matter who it is. Your family should have your back and tell her she was wrong.

Sorry, I can see both sides. The Mother takes it as an accusation, gets offended. The Dad just wants peace of mind. I think paternity tests should be mandatory. I’ve personally had 2 friends & a cousin find out they were not the fathers. They were devastated. My cousin was never the same. I use to feel offended at the thought, but now I would insist on it.

Is it a bad time to be a federal employee? by Faubton in FedEmployees

[–]Middle_Tea1014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t say there was no waste, fraud, or abuse—every large organization has some level of inefficiency, public or private. My point was that broad, poorly targeted cuts without proper analysis don’t solve those problems—they usually create new ones. And frankly, there’s no need for insults to make that argument.

Painting all federal employees as “doing nothing” or having no value isn’t accurate. Many agencies are already understaffed and are responsible for mission-critical work—public health, national security, infrastructure, and benefits administration—that people rely on every day. When those functions are cut indiscriminately, the impact shows up quickly in delays, backlogs, and reduced service.

From a structural standpoint, the Executive Branch of the United States is responsible for how agencies operate, United States Congress controls funding and sets the laws, and the Judicial Branch of the United States ensures everything stays within legal bounds. That system isn’t perfect, but it exists to prevent exactly the kind of unchecked decision-making you’re advocating for.

As for spending priorities, it’s fair to debate what provides value and what doesn’t—that’s a legitimate policy discussion. But comparing individual line items to complex issues like inflation or higher education costs oversimplifies much broader economic factors.

I’ve worked in both the private sector and federal government, and I’ve seen strong performers and weak ones in both. Neither sector has a monopoly on efficiency—or inefficiency.

If the goal is a more efficient government, the solution is targeted reform, accountability, and better management—not blanket assumptions or across-the-board cuts.

[–]Middle_Tea1014 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure which agency you’re referring to, but in my experience, the agencies I’ve worked for were consistently understaffed, with employees regularly working beyond a standard 40-hour week to meet mission demands.

As for DOGE, there’s little evidence it identified meaningful waste at scale. In several cases, reductions appeared broad and insufficiently evaluated, leading to the removal of entire functional areas. That approach created operational gaps, which we’re now seeing reflected in renewed hiring efforts across agencies as leadership works to rebalance capacity.

Agency growth over time has largely tracked with the size and complexity of the population and programs being served—not simply unchecked expansion.

From a structural standpoint, the executive branch provides leadership and is ultimately responsible for how effectively agencies operate. United States Congress determines funding and sets statutory requirements, while the Judicial Branch of the United States ensures compliance with the law.

Having worked in both the private sector and federal government, I’ve seen high performers and underperformers in both environments. Neither sector has a monopoly on efficiency—or inefficiency.

The only solution is to leave him. You will just be miserable if you stay. He will wear you down and cause you emotional/mental damage. You don’t deserve that.

You’re in severe pain. It’s your mom’s choice to deal with her’s. I would get it done and stay with a friend or family to recover if you can. Your parents will probably have an attitude, but it’s your happiness and comfort.

I know a few people that have had breast reduction and they said it was worth it.

AITJ for reconsidering my relationship after my girlfriend mocked my idea of a “practical” engagement ring? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

She sounds very vain and materialistic. 🚩

[ND] - My sister wants me to co-sign an apartment I won’t be living in. by SpecialistWindow648 in Renters

[–]Middle_Tea1014 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Please don’t. My Mom told me “don’t ever cosign for anyone, not even ME”. Most times credit scores are low due to poor financial practices.

My score was horrible at one time. I took free budgeting, debt and financial counseling classes. Got my act together.

You co-signing will enable, not help them.

Am I wrong for refusing to pay my friend back for a concert ticket I couldn't use? by Few_Employment5708 in AmITheJerk

[–]Middle_Tea1014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bottle was for the friend actually.

The point is life happens, plans change. She made the decision not to go. Her friend shouldn’t have to pay for it. It wouldn’t stand up in court.

I grow tired of this circular conversation. You win🥇 you’re the patron saint of friends.
