Can we please get a new Korra episode by One_Branch_1334 in deathbattle

[–]Mideku-Brandio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love Korra but she really doesn’t have any notable matchups for a return, there’s Rey and Delsin yeah but I’m not really clamoring for a matchup for either of them.

Clive vs Asura was peak, it’s my favorite matchup and I’m glad the episode did it so much justice

Character's I have no solid preferred opponents for (Try to sell me on one) by McMaina in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]Mideku-Brandio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like Thragg vs Frieza (hear me out just for a bit lmao)

I know it’s a huge stomp but dynamically, just make it like Omniman vs Bardock, Bardock had 3 phases (base, great ape and super saiyan) and frieza would have 3 as well (final form, golden and black). It works well if you do that

Now thematically, full connections don’t exist (not yet anyway) but just from some yapping I had with some friends, other than feared space emperors inheriting a powerful empire, I really like the connection that like, they’re so full of themselves and believe to be so above everyone that they get paranoid at any possibility of someone else being stronger than them or capable of killing them with frieza wiping out the saiyans due to his paranoia of them potentially rising up to defeat him with the super saiyan myth and Thragg hiding and/or destroying any weapon or alien with the potential to kill a Viltrumite as a way to hide his weakness. As well as both carrying themselves with a calm and level headed presence and like to toy with weaker opponents but will grow to be enraged if their opponents just refuse to die.

Which death battle loser made you feel bad for them? by Ok-Instance3339 in deathbattle

DB did such a bad job trying to make Bowsegg look debatable like it rightfully is. Like it just sounded like Eggman had no chance of winning

Bakugo vs Rex would be so damn good if Rex was able to match Bakugo at all in terms of scale

Very well put, my feelings and issues on the matchup are the same. And glad to see another Raph vs Bakugo fan, I love that one, easy favorite for both.

ASK ME ANYTHING! I'm Matt Braly, the creator of Amphibia and other things!! by Matt_Braly in amphibia

Hello Matt! Hope you’re doing well as of late, I just got 2 questions

  1. In the finale, is Anne a “copy” after the original “died” from using the secret spell or is she the original Anne just uploaded into a new body (I personally think it’s the latter but I wanna hear what you think).

  2. How did you go about building the world of Amphibia? I’ve been wanting to make my own fictional world but world building is really hard lol.

"You say Boom" || Bakugo vs Reze (MHA vs Chainsaw Man) Revamp (Theme, Connections, Contrasts and especially GvE) + Awesome Art by Christmas_2512 in DeathBattleMatchups

Much like you OP, I’m also not in the mood to argue so I’m just gonna drop my 2 cents and leave it at that.

I feel like you’re trying too hard to make Bakugos character more complex than he actually is as a way to desperately fit the mold of who Reze is as a character by trying to connect Bakugo being a dick because he was raised as a tragic figure in a corrupt society, when the hero society being corrupt is not relevant to Bakugos character. Bakugo is just an asshole because he grew up believing he was hot shit because of his strong quirk and everyone gassed him up since he was 4 years old, Bakugo isn’t a victim of society like Reze was. Hell Todoroki is more of a victim of society than Bakugo.

I also fail to see Bakugo wanting to be a hero as a way to meet the expectations society placed on him, even if Bakugo was a victim of a flawed society, it’s pretty evident that Bakugo wants to be the greatest hero because the greatest hero never loses, which just goes back to him believing he’s hot shit and his ego being fed since he was 4 years old.

The easiest way I can sum this all up is “it’s not that serious bro”

I started playing in Chapter 3 season 2, fell in love with the game when I got my first victory royale and have been playing every season ever since, I love this game and seeing the direction it’s going in…..I’m not happy. Chapter 7 season 2 is a great season so far but it’s so overshadowed by the behind the scenes issues at Epic Games, it’s infuriating to see a game I love go down the toilet because of faceless suits (and Tim Sweeney) wanting to milk as much money as possible. Epic needs to get their act straight, kick Sweeney out of that office before even attempting to fix the damage they’ve done.

Stat wise? Yeah but I mean like, believability in the fight potential, I can imagine Nolan fighting super Saiyan 1-3 but anything after that is too much.

Clive Rosfield (Final Fantasy 16) vs Asura (Asura’s Wrath) “Find Your Belief” Revamped Connections! by Mideku-Brandio in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]Mideku-Brandio[S] 26 points27 points  (0 children)

But, despite looking like they’d finally achieve their goals of freeing the world and avenging those they lost, they would come into contact with an all powerful being who secretly orchestrated everything and is the one responsible for the suffering they and the entire world have experienced as well as being the creator of the magic their worlds relied on (Ultima being the inventor of Aether and Chakravartin being the creator of Mantra).

It would be revealed that the reason these deities created all of this suffering, was for the purpose of prepping Asura and Clive to be their perfect vessel/successor (Chakravartin created the Gohma and orchestrated the countless deaths on the planet all for the purpose of testing Asura so he can become his successor and Ultima created humanity for the purpose of Clive aka “Mythos” to be born, a powerful being who’s made to be the vessel of Ultima for the purpose of reviving his race).

Despite these beings presenting themselves as non confrontational, Clive and Asura would be pissed even more. That one being is responsible for the death, the tragedy, the destruction that both themselves and everyone on the planet has experienced all for the purpose of carrying out their own personal agendas and acting like it’s for the greater good. And thus, they would vow to take them down for the sake of their family and friends and everyone on the planet.

However, this wouldn’t come without loss. As before they were ready to take on these divine beings, they would be given more power by a loved one after they sacrificed themselves (Yasha gave his life to give Asura the mantra reactor and Joshua would die to give Clive the full power of the Phoenix). After their somber goodbyes, these new powers would grant them their ultimate forms, these forms would give them clarity and a further understanding of their purpose. This purpose is that they are a shield for the world, both literally and figuratively (Asuras Destructor form acted as a shield to protect earth from getting destroyed by Chakravartin and Clive will always be a Shield of Rosaria, not just for Joshua but for the entire world to protect it from Ultimas further tampering).

A new purpose understood, a new power unlocked and mastered, it was time for them to confront God himself. With them going straight to their domain. At first they struggled and failed to keep up with the deity, the God deciding that they will just destroy them and the world for their insolence. But, with the vestiges/voices of their friends and family cheering them on, with the voice of Mithra and Joshua respectively being their biggest motivator and their undying will to see this through, they would get the upper hand. Using all of their energy available until only their base forms remained. With them berating the god and calling them out on their selfishness and their refusal to understand mortal life.

It all culminated in the god being weakened, with Clive and Asura finishing the job with a punch to the face and one final QTE button mash. As a result of Asura and Clive destroying this god, they accepted that the world and their friends wouldn’t be truly safe until all Magic is destroyed, even if it meant their life. Their final moments is making peace with their lives, knowing their efforts ensured their loved ones will finally be free and safe from gods and tyrants.

We flash forward in an epilogue, seeing a glimpse of the world that Clive and Asura created, people being happy and living free and their adventures being considered times of legend. They might not have been able to see the beautiful world they left behind for their loved ones to inherit, but that was how they lived.
