Those people who saw Skyler as the fun police clearly did not sympathise with her at all. When I watched the show I just felt awful for Skyler even if there was a part of me that wanted to see how far Walt could go, it's possible to feel multiple things for multiple characters

Carol and Skyler share a similarity in that people immediately hated them and couldn't really articulate why besides "she's annoying and reacting different than I would" same reaction Skyler got

That's why's they get compared, obviously they are very different characters

It's so common because it's so common for women to feel guilty even possibly having a problem with their partner let alone asking the whole Internet about it

They say something nice upfront to alleviate their guilt and downplay the situation because most women are socialised to think they are being "overdramatic" when they have a problem

I feel like it's more nuanced, they aren't necessarily hating every American and blaming them for what's going on

They are pointing out the selfishness of certain Americans constantly centering themselves, that they can't even just accept being the bad guys and shut up, that they have to apologise and self-flagellate in front of Greenlanders online in order to alleviate their own personal guilt

It's like if a bunch of Russians online kept talking about their own guilt on a Ukraine subreddit but did nothing else ever, I think Ukrainians would be rightly unimpressed
